$14 into $8.  After 5 runs this prep it looks like tonight is the run it'll finally get put into the race.

Also worth watching could be Command the Wind.  No stable on earth can carve out blistering mid race sectionals better than the Hobans.

Ross Graham, not one of your best is the kindest way I can think to say it

The poor horse must not have access to replays. If it did, it would have tipped him out onto the track at high speed 3 runs ago to ensure somebody more competent could replace the injured Ross Graham. The list of more competent drivers would read: Beverley Van Duinen, John Newbury, Ray Long, Boris Devcic, Eddie Tappe, Peter Cormican, Derrick Kraft, Brian Shellie, Bill Spiteri, Glen Gascoyne, and both Hoban brothers

Disappointing.  Horses like this can be eternal blackbookers.  You think 'surely he has to put it into the race next time after THAT' but some drivers are very stubborn.

At least Craig Hobans drive didn't surprise!  It takes a fair bit to fade from first to last over a sprint trip but he managed it nicely.

Craig Hoban never ever had a brain to donate

The optimists are back with Rostevarran shortening from $13 into $11 so far.  Yeah the horse hasn't been lucky but I suspect R Graham is going to have to produce a miracle for him to win this TM0-1.

The newspaper tipster suggests Earl of Mot is too good.  Deathseats and just wins.  However the Chris Lang stable have the lead completely sewn up and you can pretty much guarantee that a Lang runner will be behind the leader, and if it's Dealornodeal then she will go very very close.

One possible fly in the ointment is Rosevarran but he seems to have forgotten his gatespeed these days.  So that only leaves whoever will be in the one one, which I'm guessing will be Aleppo Sunrise.

So my prediction is Topnotch holds the front.  Earl deathseats with Dealornodeal behind the leader and from there one of them wins and the other must place.  Aleppo gets the one one and can also place and Topnotch finishes close behind them.  All this would seem to leave Rostevarran nowhere but we'll find out soon.

Draws to be driven a lot more aggressive this week, you would think Gavin would be happy to hand up to it

Hard to say.  Amiri doesn't hand up often but I'd have to agree that Amiri would be far better off sitting behind Rostevarran rather than leading with No Early Spark outside him and Kyasanov sitting on his back.

To me this is a race where the real / old Rostverran could potentially lead and blow them away.  I'd love to see them at least try so we know how well the horse is going.

Ross Graham went forward on it first up from a 30m handicap and it really struggled, and it now seems like he's determined to drive it like it's Minnie Mouse for the rest of time.

Not a bad drive to lead and win Tatlow final on Sun of Sonoko.Where were all those so called professional drivers(punters)when he lead.

was the tatlow the one where the 2 good horses galloped out hopelessly and still went massive afterwards?
By:

When: 06 Jun 12 12:50
Yep.  I had 200 by 800 on Roy Hobbs @ 20/1 and he galloped out as badly as anything you've ever seen.  Lost maybe 80m and still ran third.

Ross Graham has trained many really really good trotters, most notably Viva La Fever and driven plenty of trotting winners.

Rostevarran was 2YO and 3YO trotter of the year but has only been put into a race once out of 7 runs this prep.  Maybe that's appropriate, maybe he really needs to be driven with a sit and hope for luck these days but that isn't working very well so far.  Personally I'd love to see him in front at least once more to see how he goes.

Ross has probably driven 14 winners in 9 years ..yeah that's probably where the correlation between aussiebob & ross comes from

Well they gave leading a go but unfortunately ran into Sun Samurai who pulled his head off and made them run a scorching lead time and both horses finished miles back.  Looks like Ross has been right in driving it with a sit these days.

It will be interesting to see how Savannah Way goes later on tonight as like Rostevarran it has been trialling well at Bendigo before resuming.  It may be a mistake to assume that'll translate into performance under race conditions.

as you should know any 2 year old pacer or trotter are risky and when odds so short like $1.26 or $1.90 last night you don't have to be to smart to lay them.
