AFTER HAVING 97 STARTS IN 679 DAYS   (14/5/10 UNTIL 23/5/12)
A START EVERY 7.2 DAYS FOR 22 MONTHS
STEWARDS FINALLY DID SOMETHING AND STOOD THE POOR BEAST DOWN ON 23/3/2012

Stewards stood this horse down on 23/3/2012 after a preperation of over 2 years (Assuming it was in 2 months b4 1st run of prep).

It trialed 2 days later, 25/3/2012 and was cleared to race again.

THIS IS A FCKING DISGRACE

a pacer .

who wouldn't have ever paid it's way.

But that si not the point,

the Animal libbers don't want horse jumping or getting hit

but they can race weekly for 2 years

Racing every week wouldn't be hurting the horse. If it is injury free i dont see the problem.

I heard this bulls!t when there was a rumour Takeover Target was put back in racing.

There is no evidence that a horse would enjoy sitting in a paddock getting fat anymore than it would enjoy being stabled, fed well & kept fit.

Can you say the horse hates racing every week??

What about, What Am I. Raced Sat and Sun night at Globe. Its racing at Mildura, on Thursday and backing up again at Globe, Sat night. Four runs in a week.

In fairness Castiron What Am I improved from Sat night to Sunday

AD, I wasn't being critical of the trainer or the horse.

It did look to improve, but I would suspect, that had more to do with Sat night being a much tougher race.

I thought the horse it beat (after doing a lot of work) on Sunday would have just about got away with the Sat night race itself. Definately went better for mine.

I take your point though, I am not sure that 4 runs in a week is the way forward Crazy

AD

I was on Studwell, but I have always thought there was a bit of " cat" in him, and Sunday's run confirmed that for me.

I also think there is 20 metres between Studwell and Making History, as horses and not taking into account the respective drivers.

Studwell certainly had the race at its mercy, I guess you are putting it down more to him being a "cat" than What Am I improving.

Fair call that Making History is a better horse than Studwell, but it did draw the car park Sat night so I am taking that into account a bit also. Studwell is certainly a better horse Tarchen or Nevadas Icon who beat What Am I home sat night.

All horses not not the same.  Has The Answers 210 starts 71 wins 36 2nds 23 3rds and $1.2m in stakes. Longest break since 2009, 4 weeks in may 2011.  Raced 4 Times in 2 weeks over Inters and trialled as well to get back in the draw running home in 54 seconds on an 800m track.  Note condoning it but hard to see any ill affects.

horse wouldnt be trying an inch so its not a case for cruelty, horse is probably better off being at the races where whip use is under scrutiny
By:

if racing & training horses is cruel then the whole industry should be banned.

biggest problem will always be the participants; just then at cobram giggling girl wanted to sit parked and pressure the leader.. no surprise to see it faint at the 400 and the leader a sitting duck

expected stewards report: drivers comments were noted

He clearly thought the front was there Uncleee, Passions Promise handed up last time in an inferior race.

Look where Gav's horse finished!! It is Gavin that should have the serious question asked of him, not Salathiel
By:

When: 12 Apr 12 06:33
Gav finished 4th, at least 10m in front of the death seat horse.. Gav clearly said no
By:
Aussie Driver
When: 12 Apr 12 06:43
Gav's horse actually finished second last, beaten 14.8 metres, after handing up the start before in an inferior race.

He can say no all he likes, he made a poor decision
By:

no gavin finished 4th out of 6, gottahavasheffield ran 2nd last

Yes apologies that is correct

You can't possibly support Gavin's decision based on the horses last run Uncleee
By:
uncleee
When: 12 Apr 12 09:44
why would you push for the lead after your told to f**k off? its not like salathiel is luke mcarthy or lance justice, people are not going to be scared of him and gav had every right not to hand up

all of that aside, do you honestly think salatheil thought gav handed up last week he'll hand up this week? or i'm a good chance of winning today so i better lead because thats what you do
By:
Aussie Driver
When: 12 Apr 12 09:50
Absolutely every right to have a look for the front from a horse who handed up against inferior class last start, certainly was no COT announced - is that not actually against the rules of racing?? Should be questioned on that basis alone, you can't hand up one week against weaker grade then hold the front the week after against better grade, go like a busted crab, and not have questions asked. You want to pot the guy who was stuck outside him?

You can say he copped pressure but they didn't go that hard and he was beaten many lengths after defying what he did the start before, I can't possibly see how you can defend that
By:
uncleee
When: 12 Apr 12 10:02
the horse that pressured went worse and finished further back
By:
Aussie Driver
When: 12 Apr 12 10:11
I don't think you are dealing with the issue there, hand up in an inferior grade, then hold up in stronger grade next start, and the result didn't validate the change, nor was a change announced pre race. Nothing to be defended there imo

I genuinely respect your opinion greatly Uncleee, but we will have to agree to disagree here

P.Salathiel should have come out of the gate, instead of easing.
would have crossed the other 2.
group1 never going to cross unless handed to him.
would have been left in the breeze.
I agree with AD. Uncleeee i bet against it.should have just fkn layed it!
