I think he has a great chance this year and not too many negatives. Won the Scottish version off just 1lb lower and wasn't stopping at the end after traveling well. The extra 2f could even bring about more improvement. He was fairly class over hurdles placing in a Grade 2 contest over 2m 4f which shows he has the speed to match his stamina. He goes on any ground and is a dom alco who has already sired a grand national winner. Hasn't shown much form this year but nicholls says he is a spring horse which is trainer speak for he's been laid out for a big Spring handicap. Last but least he has recently been purchased by Trevor hemmings who has a good eye for national winners. 25/1 is more than fair price.

I reckon Nicholls has got a "RIGHT GOOD CHANCE" with Vicente as long as it does not get too soft underfoot.

Ran ok in Hennessy, but dire since. Only hope, trainer getting his mark down. If so, done well there. Agree, soft ground wouldn't be wanted. Jumped poorly last time.

Two or three big negatives really. a) fell at the first last year b) jumped really poorly at Cheltenham and Nicholls reputedly said he didn't think it was suited to Aintree and the Scottish would be it's target. Agree it's well handicapped though, as most of Nicholls invariably are.
