Not that strange surely?! Most famous race in the world with unbelievably good prize money. Very few NR's in the handicaps at Cheltenham for similar reasons.

a) there was a non runner last year - Carlito Brigante pulled out after the deadline for the reserves to take up the missing place and caused controversy whereby the deadline for the reserves to take up a place was extended from 9.0am to 1.0pm the day before the race.

b) As above, there are four reserves in an attempt to ensure a full field - so only realistic likelihood of a withdrawal now is if a horse is sick or lame on the day of the race.

Over the past ten years, anything up to 5 horses have scratched after the confirmation stage. With very few exceptions, they have been surprises.
