if a horse had one of these pieces of form they would be a leading contender . to have four excellent performances in  class 1  long distance races is pretty special in my eyes .  Is there a horse in the field with better credentials than  GODSMEJUDGE   ?      another fact to take into account is that he has  only ran three times in April  and that just happens to be his best three runs in his career , some horses run better in certain times of the year and  April is Godsmejudge time .

The plan looks ok barry - right until reality of racing hits you Silly

I would worry his last run was so bad but apart from that he's ok.

Have I read a piece of form correctly...help please...
Godsmejudge came last of 11 in his last hurdle race in Feb off a OR of 135......
....his last run over hurdles before that was 31/3/12 when he came 1st off an OR of 118 in a class 4 race!!

There is an obvious answer here where my lack of knowledge is exposed but why did he run off such a high a rating his win at 118 in a class 4 would not have justified a hurdles rating hike that high...or has the handicapper got the right to make that rating off his chase mark after such a break over hurdles.

Personally I have backed Gods as on of my 4 in the race but was very concern at such a poor run (even if he was being protected) last time.

SS - 2ND PARAGRAPH - or has the handicapper got the right to make that rating off his chase mark after such a break over hurdles.

He hadn't run over hurdles for 3 years and was reassessed. I guess they used discretion (it is up to 8lb below known form) so they assessed him as 6lb below his chase mark.

Not 100% sure of the bylaws of handicapping but that is my understanding.

A.King was also very disappointed with that hurdle run.

I wouldn't worry about the last run - a handicap hurdle prep for a horse being aimed at the National is neither here nor there and just a chance to blow away cobwebs. Don't Push It pulled up in his hurdle prep run for the National. Alan King will not have had any intention of trying to win that Bangor hurdle and even though he'd have liked to see him run better than he did, the performance is largely irrelevant.

More of a worry would be that he has pulled up in three of his last six chases, albeit with two good runs in between.

Joke of a firm. No point in betting with them. Won't let me bet more than a Tenner !
