Sympathise. That was even worse ! It looked home and hosed ! |

I was on clan royal.
I also did party politics in the void race, would have won. I'd seen red marauder win at wetherby so knew it was class, fell at the 3rd, won it the following year when I'd deserted him. Ground is gonna dry out nicely for the package (if he gets in ) Would have won a six figure sum on him the last couple of years, but only a five figure amount this year! |

Re the package,
I'm only just able to talk about it. Did the shops. Betting slips are still buried in my back garden, Can't be @rsed to dig them up |

I told all my friends at school about Mr Snugfit very hard to take as a 16 year old.
First Grand National Day visit was 2000 and I had put a big bet on with Mike Burton for Mely Moss. I felt like I was the only person who had not been in on the Papillion gamble. 2004 My friend was stood next to Ginger McCain during the race. |

Save a thought.....lol....I was on Clan Royal that same year (remember finding a tele as I was at a mates wedding....didn't go down well lol)and the year after when he was carried out with McCoy on board.....and guess what....I have been on Across the Bay for the last two years as well (in tenerife watching from a bar last year :-( !!!!!!...grrrrrrr....thats why we love the National!!!!!
|
By:
Yep. Money down on CR again, when carried out. Pulling McCoys arms out at the time ! Really unlucky horse.
|
By:
I was on the other CR that got stopped along with Clan Royal.....Colnel Rayburn. Reckon he would have went close, but the way Hedgehunter finished, I don't think he would have won.
The 2004 National is my favourite ever, loved old Amberleigh House, and not a bean on either. I was waiting for the Spring Double, with Badodana having won the Lincoln, but Shardam got as far as the 3rd. Had a proper bet for me (back then) on the day on Takagi, but he got rid of Davy Russell at The Chair, when he was lobbing away nicely, convinced myself he would have won |

Another Clan Royal backer signing in
My worst one ever though was What's Up Boys... Stood to win me an absolute fortune.. Was stood near the Elbow and as he went passed I was counting my money. Couldn't see the line but still thought he had done it. F*cking Bindaree |

Another one was the 1988 running. Had backed Durham Edition at long long odds, and a saver on Rhyme ' n Reason.
DE flew the last and went on from RnR , thought he was home , then RnR got back up. Although I was on the winner, still felt robbed ! |
By:
In 1990 my friend rang me on the morning of the race and asked for 4 horses I gave him Brown Windsor, Durham Edition, Mr Frisk and Rinus. They were the first 4 home no tricast just single bets.
|
By:
Can't remember the year maybe Miinnehoma's year but it was the only time I ever tried a tricast in the GN, did 4 horse perm & they came 1st, 2nd, 4th & 5th.
