i am still in the Godsmejudge camp . After his race at Kempton in the Betright chase i was pleased with the progress he had made from his first run of the season . Then came the plan to give him a spin over hurdles at Bangor which did not go to plan at all . After tests everything was fine so Alan King just put it down to the fact that he maybe did not like reverting to hurdles . i hope indeed that was the case but as a result it has knocked my confidence in him a bit . Godsmejudge is a pretty reliable horse and normally runs his race however he has 2 or 3 dismal efforts in his life time form . what gives me hope is his bounce back ability as he has ran excellent races next time out . 1st December 2012 when he was a 11-2 SP he was last of 12 finishes beaten 47 lengths (very similar to last run at Bangor) . Next run 18th December 2012 9-4 SP he won . he then ran five good races until two poor efforts Dec 2013 and 2014 ( Alan King had virus during that time ) . But once again he bounced back with excellent 2nd of 29 in the Scottish national on 12th April 2014 . what made it more of an outstanding effort was a week earlier he did not take his place at Aintree as had been the plan all year because trainer could not get him to full health in time . . It could have been a blessing in disguise as this year he is now perfect age to win the Grand National . I think a lot of people will take a look at his recent form figures and cross him off their fancies , hopefully he will reward those that keep the faith .

If he got moody at the thought of hurdles last time, then he wouldnt be the first horse not to to fancy the National either. That said he's well weighted, runs well at this time of year and Alan King's yard is beginning to get among the winners again.
Personally I'd have kept the horse for another Scottish National run. |

When weights come out I made Godsmejudge my pick. But now he is only 20-1 and ran so badly LTO that at the price you could not back him. If already on you would hope he bounces back but his current price totally ignores his last run

yes he would know doubt have been a few points shorter if he had not ran at Bangor

my point is that if 20-1 before poor last run with no obvious excuses surely should be bigger now

he did drift out to around 42 on Betfair and Bet 365 pushed him out to 33-1 . But people must have had plenty of money on even then as price did not last long
