Good to see that  Nina Carberry has been given a good ride in the Grand National . First Lieutenant has good form in good class races but has never tried  a trip beyond 3 miles 2.5 furlongs so  a big doubt over stamina .However Mouse Morris expects a good run from him  so could this be the year when a lady wins the big one ?

Ive fancied the horse since the weights came out and having Nina on board doesnt unduly worry me. She gave On The Fringe a great ride to win the Foxhunters and you could see her doing the same again on a horse who has been mixing it with the very best for most of his career and just coming up short.

The National might just bring about a change of luck for the horse who was rated 11lbs higher around this time last year, keeping on into 4th behind the likes of Silvianco Conti and Dynaste in last years Bowl. He certainly wasnt stopping at the end of that race, so perhaps the extra distance of the National could be just what the horse needs.

He's got a great racing weight for the race, seems to go on any ground, will be a relatively fresh horse coming into the race and if Nina can get him into a rhythm early on then he wouldnt be the worst 33/1 shot in the race.

I'd rather have Nina than Paul, who'd try his usual, "give the others a 6 furlongs start" kind of a ride.

I think has a very decent chance. Took the 33's couple of days ago & now as pricewise will shorten up. Nina is a great jockey so no negatives there and every chance of being first female jockey winning the National. She won the Irish national a few years back. Here's hoping....

Wouldn't stay if he started now.

This was one of the first horses I drew a line through. Hardly ever wins and I don't see it staying. Have to admit having another look at it tonight when I saw the sea of blue but still can't see it.

Dont necessarily think it should be retired, but agreed it was never going at any stage of the race.

The horse sadly made a serious blunder at the second and he got too far behind as a result.
Thought he ran OK actually, jumping well after the error, but didn't really see it out strongly enough in the end.
