Tatts is great on Thursday/Friday and all being equal I'll be there, betting/getting a drink is very easy, but Saturday is manic and I'll be watching at home. Enjoy

Tatts is ok if you bare standing for three days? Perhaps do a mixture of tickets. Stands one day, Tatts the other two.

^ As you can see - and as was reported recently -
A lot of GRAND NATIONAL day was 'SOLD OUT' - as soon as they went on sale - - which did not happen last year - as I bought decent entry tickets for somebody in early March - before they Sold Out, shortly after that. Makes you think that Booking 'Agencies' and TOUTS have been 'hoovering up'. -------------- Perhaps, previous posters advice of - attend Thursday and Friday - and watch the National on television (where you will definitely see more) - could well be the route to follow. |

Princess Royal seats Thursday and Friday if you want the racing; Tatts if you want the buzz; especially on the Friday. Swerve Saturday. Aintree is a compact area (unlike Cheltenham)so getting about is easy. Tight but friendly security and getting to and from the course by train is well organised. Been the last 3 years and booked up already. The card on the Thursday is top class too.

im going for years.easy enuf to buy ticket at face value outside before racing..lots of genuine people off loading

Has anyone received their tickets yet?
|

Would never go in Tatts on National day, unless you like getting crushed or have a sideline in picking pockets.
Bite the bullet and pay for the stands, we always go in County Roof and you get a great view of the course. |

Queen mother seats for me on the Friday.Too old now to stand for two days !
As someone says below you will probably pick up spares outside. I sold a PR seat ticket last year for the Saturday on Gumtree face value and met the guy outside on the Friday,i thought he was a tout however he was sat beside us with his mates in the same area the next day. So would have a look there also nearer the time. Got a Email today offering me two free tatts tickets for Haydock on 14/02/15 because i had bought tickets for the national |

I've been trying to find a way to watch AP ride before he retires. I've hardly gone to the racecourse and never seen him even just to applaud him for his career. Living in Newcastle there's not much chance of seeing now him as the regional meetings aren't the greatest cards (even Newcastle). There's a Newcastle meeting this week but I realised he might not be there. I thought that if he gave in after Aintree that would be it. I realised that I might have to go to Aintree on the Thursday as a last resort. I've now thought bollocks let's go there anyway as I've never been there before and it should be fun. I've bought myself a Lord Daresbury Stand ticket as it seems the best choice for the actual racing.

thanks for all the replies....we all decided on tatts on National Day, Roof enclosure on Friday. Been going to Cheltenham for many years so we wanted to be in all the hussle and bussle (and crushing lol) to experience the day. We know we won't see much but its about the day for us. We are experienced race goers but never been to Aintree for the reasons all stated below so we are going to give it a go for one year and then next year go to a different place..or even country!
.....I hear the trains go regularlry from Aintree back into Liverpool and Chester to we aim to get that there and back (we are staying in Liverpool Friday night and then Chester on Saturday night. Is it best to pre book the train tickets...I can envisage it is manic at the station after racing! |

Buy your train tickets for Saturday on the Friday, simples.
