A good idea is to park one stop up on the train (North). The station is busy, but everyone goes to the South to the City Centre. The trains going the other way are empty, and the station is literally accross the road from the course.

the station that I think Marychain is referring to is Old Roan, better option may be Maghull which is the next stop north good parking facility there and easy access onto the M58 for your trip home.About £2.60 return to Aintree which is 2 stops away.

I parked at the Old Roan Baptist Church today, it was £10 flat fee, arrived about 11.30am very easy access, got away without any delay, small car park but not even full - they also have a nice cafe for a quick cuppa before the madness ensues.
Might be more challenging on National day but I'd recommend it. |

Another vote here for parking a couple of stops north - 5 minute trainer journey saves a hell of a lot of hassle with traffic around the racecourse.

Went yesterday and parking was a nightmare loads of streets blocked off. Higher lane(it's not a car park just a street) is a 10 minute walk away and was easy to get away from though and will park there again.
