Really fancy this to run a big race......his form this season has been decent without being spectacular and could have slipped under the radar.  He came second to Harry Topper in the Charlie Hall then forget this next run as clearly slipped early on and effectively did not recover, his race was over after that 1st fence slip.  His run when 7th to Night in Milan, in the Grimthorpe, was ok.  He has won at Aintree twice in his career and always seems to pop up when we have forgotten about him.  At decent odds is worth a second look.

Does anyone know if he is an intended runner?

I have had a shilling on him on the strength of that piece of form.

looks 13lb wrong with Tidal Bay (unless i'm reading the adjusted marks wrong), so if you bet WP then you'd have to consider TB as well I s'pose.

Never won a chase with more than eight runners.

Claustrophobics have a bad time of it in the National.

if he runs up with the first eight all the way, will his claustrophobia make any difference?

thats a fair point roger....but then a lot of these would not have been in a field this size too often.  But I also agree with Pedrobob (great name/horse...was a great win for mean a cheltenham previously)......I have always had a feeling that the reason why most horses that are up with the pace do better because...1  too much ground to make up if at the back all the way round and 2.. as not many horse around them they feel more comfortable and not easily distracted by others

Could be right re his tactics here because he was held up on his last 2 runs and did nothing but was up there for much of the way in The Charlie Hall (arguably his strongest piece of form in the last 18 months), so that may be the key to him

Of course that was on soft ground. On decent ground, trying to race with the pace could have him out on his feet or pressurised into mistakes but at 66/1 you can't have it all.

Good luck anyway.

He's on my shortlist but I do have concerns. As stated he's only won a chase with 8 runners. Since Mr Frisk (I don't know about him) only Lord Gyllene and Bindaree didn't win a 13+ runner chase. I'm also worried that his recent form has been too poor and that his form has been dismal when he's ran over longer than 3m1f.
