I'm keen on this one but one stat I don't like is he's been pulled up in the race previously...

I think Vintage Star will be her main hope.

vintage star of an age that does not generally win the GN.
Moonshine ran very well +jumped like a stag in the bechers chase over 3m 2 in very heavy ground. Also fancy tea43/sunnyhillboy(on at 33's)+chance du roy(on at 40's). |

I won it when i was 8 lol

Bindaree, is it true that you're the last winner of the GN that went on to win another race?
|
By:
Not sure, the bloob, but think I've heard that said before.

Silver Birch won a ptp next time out after its national win. But if you don't count that then Bindaree was indeed the last national winner to win another race after winning. Bindaree won the National in 2002 and the Welsh National (its only other win) in 2003.
Since then, Monty's Pass (10), Amberleigh House (12), Hedgehunter (14), Numbersixvalverde (4), Silver Birch (9), Comply or Die (11), Mon Mome (18), Don't Push It (6), Neptune Collonges (retired after race) and Auroras Encore (3) have had 87 attempts between them to get home in front since their national wins and the only thing they have to show for it is Silver Birch's PTP at Nenagh. |

Money Tree has put up Mr Moonshine as his win lay for the National on the Horse Racing Forum...
|
By:
Problem with Mr Moonshine is the fact it's never threatened to win a race over 3 miles or more and certainly not off 149.
|

I put it up as a lay as the stats suggest it should be 200-1 but you can lay at 50-1
Hence it won't win. |
