Fair enough Zealot, what would you suggest instead? Bit pricey in the more exclusive parts if you're just going with a few lads for a day out. Has anyone been in the steeplechase enclosure?

Too far from anywhere, you'd be better off going into Liverpool town centre for the day and joining in the craic there.

Steeplechase enclosure is literally on the other side of the course cut off from the rest of Aintree during racing. If you're canny and early enough on the Saturday morning you should grab a tout. In the meantime put out pleas on FB & Twitter. There is always someone who can't go.

You'll deffo get tickets outside. For a lads day out here is nothing wrong with Tatts. Plenty of bars & food outlets close by, a massive indoor arena with live music & giant screens & the view from the slope isn't bad, not too far from the finishing line & the chair is directly opposite. The only drawback I can think of is getting to & from the parade ring, horrendous.

Cheers lads, still on the lookout. I'm a cheltenham man, not been to aintree before. It's myself and three mates, there not into racing, we're golfing in Scotland then down for racing Saturday before home. Will hopefully pick four up for face value. Old course Friday, racecourse Saturday, sweet!

If you're just going for a day out / piss up you'll be OK in tatts. Get face value or less outside, obviously the longer you leave it the cheaper you'll get.
