Daft as it sounds, I would make fences slightly higher which would then slow the horses down and put more emphasis on jumping. Surely that is the point of the national. Top staying Jumpers. Speed kills not fences.
Just my opinion and it would retain it's uniqueness. |

^^Not daft at all. Only the reactionist/knee jerkers who know nothing about the national want fence sizes reduced, less fences etc.

Bang on the money there, its the lower fences that are causing problems as horses don't have to 'measure' them as well
