Not 100% but think it was around £95 for PR seats in 2011 so up £20

I think I'll go back to 3-days in Tatts in 2013 if they hike it up again. That will be me going full circle in 20 yrs. There's only so many times they can milk us. I've already stopped drinking on the course. Unless I have a good winner of course

The countdown to the 2013 John Smith’s Grand National will begin in a month’s time, when tickets and dining packages will go on-sale for the most eagerly anticipated event in the sporting calendar.
From Wednesday, August 1, hospitality in the form of restaurant dining and private boxes will be amongst the first packages to be made available for sale for the 2013 event, together with Season Tickets, 2-day and 3-day badges. Two weeks later, from Wednesday, August 15, all tickets and badges, including all seated enclosures will go on-sale from 9am via the internet, www.aintree.co.uk and by telephone the following day (Thursday, August 16). The racecourse is currently finalising its packages, which will be available to view ahead of on-sale on the racecourse’s website from the end of July. This year’s John Smith’s Grand National witnessed record attendances with over 154,000 racegoers attending the three day meeting. Grand National day itself sold out some 6 weeks prior to the day and Liverpool Day, the opening day of the meeting broke the 30,000 attendance barrier for the first time. On track, racegoers witnessed a thrilling Grand National, with grey, Neptune Collonges beating Sunnyhill Boy to mark the first ever photo finish in the race. Neptune Collonges became only the third grey to have won the race, breaking the 51 year drought since grey, Nicholas Silver won in 1961. Commenting ahead of on-sale, Emma Owen, Marketing & PR Manager for Aintree Racecourse said: “Although we’ve finished our racing season for the summer and don’t race again until October, it’s a very busy time at the racecourse for the team, who are putting together the many packages and offerings which will make a day out at the 2013 John Smith’s Grand National all the more special. By going on-sale early, racegoers can choose the ticket of their choice and feel safe in the knowledge their place is secured for the biggest event in the 2013 calendar.” |

Will probably be 20% up like you say. Bitter will be £4.00 a pint (currently £3.85). No surer thing as there is no reason to hold the price whilst the Friday Plastics are prepared to pay anything every year. Sadly that one day is manipulating the whole three days.

Tatts has remained the same so I'll go in there this year for three days.
I'm disappointed however in no early booking discounts for all the other fixtures I attend on my own or as a pair. Only discounts this year are for parties of five plus it appears. |

Never get why they don't offer a discount for advance sales like Cheltenham do; think I might just go on the Thursday and Friday this year. The various terrace tickets are a fair bit cheaper on the Thursday so I might treat myself just for 1 day, which is the best grandstand/roof etc to go in viewing wise?

It was the usual carnage today when trying to book online tickets.......I guess they aint spending the extra dough they are charging on the computer system

We eventually got:
5 for the Tatts on Friday 19 for PR seats on Saturday We eventually got in at 10.04 & 10.54 (trying to get them from 0900 but various errors received) As usual had to use the debit card as it seemed to dislike the Credit cards(another stealth tax) |

 Last 5 years have had 20 tickets, i have had to sell at less than face a few times, i even traded one for the taxi ride from Southport to the course! |

I'd give the Thursday a go in the stands if you want a little bit of relatively unhindered comfort.

Cheers mate, more bothererd about viewing than anything. Went all 3 days last year and bought West Tip seats but wasn't really worth it

Bluebird, I go every year on the Thursday, great day out, and always go in one of the main stands! County Roof is good and Queen Mother is too and would recommend paying the bit extra as an upgrade on Tatts.

I'm getting a little but miffed with what they're trying to do with the Thursday. Again they're trying to turn it into a circus with The Saturday's setting things off. Nice eye candy I admit but no place at a race meeting especially pre-race. Then they're saying under 17's are free and encouraging people to bring them along. Well for one they should be at school that day, and two - who the heck wants to be falling over prams and kids under five? I go to this meeting to get away from kids, not spend my free time dodging strangers kids

Have been to the national three years on the trot now and never bought tickets for County Stand Roof ,have had Princess and Sefton. Can anyone help with a recommendation of Princess Royal Roof vs County Stand Roof?? Much appreciated ...

County Roof edges it over the Princess Royal for viewing but not much in it. Down side of the County is there is no roof cover and no lift (can be quite a slog up several flights of stairs if you're not Linford Christie). Princess Royal has both but it's even money that the lifts are working or not.

Am already booked in for the Thursday as a package with my club - got food and a QM stand seat included. Can't wait! May be worth a look for any of you thinking of going on the Thursday. Will dig out the info for you.
