50/1 NRNB with Bet £3.65 is absolutely massive. Its Aintree Record is this.

2009 Grand National - 4th to Mon Mone off 11-2
2010 Grand National - 3rd to Dont Push It off 10-11
2011 Grand National - 4th to Ballabriggs off 10-6

Gets in off 10-3 this time, 12 now but set out for this race and this race only. The last two years it has stayed on from miles back to place, and as it is really a good ground horse, the price is huge. But, as it really needs about 5 and a half miles, the softer ground will do it no harm whatsoever as it will may just make it that little bit more of a stamina test. If its stamina is brought into play a bit earlier then it could be tough to stop at the business end.

If firms go 50/1 6 places as we get nearer the weekend I might have to go back in again, and I would be made up with another place, but surely this one would get a bigger cheer if it won that even Synchronised.

Agree that softer conditions could help this old boy. He is best fresh and even at 12 is lightly raced throughout his career. It has always surprised me that the horse becomes outpaced 4 out only to stay on again. He is probably worth another decent each way bet.

Surely he's not good enough to win. Why would he suddenly improve from his series of placed runs at the age of 12? I believe his record shows us exactly how good he is. On the other hand he must have a great shot at placing as his record and weight suggest. We know he can jump round. However, his style of staying on well from miles off the pace lends itself to a place at best unless the leaders fall in a hole. I'm also always concerned about any horse that's not race fit for this. I know that's SoP's style but I can't help but think it's a disadvantage.

I think it got a bad ride last year he didnt really go for the horse until between the last two, stayed on better than anything a bonus that Moloney has chosen something else imho.

Just wtached last years race and it's amazing he got plaaced from where he was. I can't see him winning though and s probably flattered by everything elese falling into a hole. He was niggling along on him earlier but didn't pull the whip out until between last two. Maybe the horse finds more off the bridle than they thought!

If we say the 3lb less he carries this year makes up for him being a year older, and the softer going stops them going away as easily at the end, he is a stonking each way bet.

He only gets going once everyone else has stopped or already won, I just wonder whether slower conditions might just see that happen a bit earlier this time round.

He runs like a horse that wants soft but he hates it apparently & needs it good.

That said I don't see how anyone can think he's 10s TBP.  And he has finished from out of the clouds the last two runnings (you won't be able to see that on the 2010 running because the gaping ar$ehole that produces the BBC's coverage decided to focus on the winner for about 30 seconds after he'd crossed the line, robbing an entire nation of once a year EW punters of seeing the great fight for the places.

Very VERY glad the morons at the BBC have lost the coverage. CH4 have plenty of faults but at least they appreciate that people watch racing because they've bet on it.

Wado Agree

In the 2010 race the cameraman was waiting for the second and third but only for a second or two, then the producer must have shouted `camera 2 onto the winner`..absolute **** heads at the BBC. As you say robbed the nation of seeing a great fight for the places. It would be nice to see it. Still seething.

Gone back in taking a bit of 50/1 6 places and 66/1 5 places. Also had a bit matched on here just over 3/1 tbp 10 places. There's a few lively outsiders this year; Rare Bob, Quiscover Fontaine, State of Play have all been around the 50/1 mark at one time or another. Arbor Supreme surely isnt a 125/1 shot either?
