I'm into this for a chunk, partly for the above reasons and partly because it was the name of a night out when i was at uni ;)

I'm quite sweet on this as well. He has decent staying form and a touch of class (won a weak G1). Not a certain stayer over 4 1/2 m but not many are. Quite a lot of weight but not insurmountable at 11-5. He's interesting at the price.

anyone else got a view on this one? Looks to have a decent chance to me!!

I backed it at 36 thinking wrongly it was too big and would contract.
Certainly will be fresh for the day, stayed on well in The Hennessey giving 12lb to Carruthers who was thought good enough to run in Gold Cup, excellent jockey and trainer, touch of class. Price currently seems a bit top heavy in my opinion. |

Doubtful stayer imo and even more doubtful on slower ground
Would give him half a chance on good ground, and he'd be one to trade shorter as I think he'd travel well in to the race but I think stamina would give way in the last mile |

Hello again. Grand National. You may remember sometime ago about me banging on about Planet Of Sound for the Hennessy and how I was confident he should run a big race in that. Well, he didn't win, but, he did run well as expected in second for a nice ew return. The reason for my confidence was his record at tracks like Newbury. His record there or at similar now reads 122111112. Once again on Saturday, he is set to run in the biggest chase of his life at the biggest galloping track he will ever run at and providing he puts in a clear round, I am very hopeful he will at the very least run into a place. At current odds of 40/1, I think it is well worth the risk and a big run is once again expected based on previous exploits. Obviously, on trends and other criteria, there are several others I could mention as well, suffice it to say, my pick is one of the few class acts in the race, and as over recent years the winning weight appears to be creeping up, I don't think 11st 5lbs is a major problem. 40/1 is simply to big to ignore and he is certainly good enough to win this. Bet: Planet Of Sound ew @40/1 generally. Happy |

My main fancy for the race. Good jumper with a touch of class and has some very solif form in the back. As already said, its often guesswork about them staying, but hav a feeling this one will.
40/1 e.w top 5 is just too big in my eyes. |

I'm on but worry about the rain and even more about the dramatic drift in price Tuesday.

there was a price drift on on his own and that one worked out perfectly, i think it'll dry up and p.o.s will have a great shout!

Definitely got a chance and well handicapped I think but doubtful stayer based on Hennessy run.

Hennessy was a poor race. Full of non-stayers & GB not at his peak
POS is a place lay |
|

price contracting as the ground moves from soft to good to soft...

Like Calgary Bay he is worth a punt, and Weird Al and Neptunes
..all classy types who could enjoy jumping at a steady gallop. |
