Interesting that he has not been declared for the Irish GN Monday.

Could he still be lining up in this?

Regarding Irish National a few days back

Willie Mullins in RP today;

Quiscover Fontaine - main hope, had an interupted prep last season when 4th.

Apt Approach - doesn't want him carrying a big weight, will probably allow him to take his chance at Aintree instead.

Up the Beat - finished for the season - sore after Kim Muir

Allee Garde - feels he has a lot of weight for a novice and expects the weights to rise quite a bit. Said he has a big decision to make whether to go for this or wait for Punchestown.

Shakervilz is a possible. Bishopsfurze may run but he has an entry in the Powers Gold Cup or may wait for Punchestown.

He hopes Some Target and Raptor get in.

The problem with Mullins is you get no info - so wouldnt know if both Quiscover or  Midnight Club wil'; run in National - i wonder if JP thought he had better chances in IGN and the vibes are that both Syncronised and Sunnyhillboy may not run - so has diverted Quiscover to this

Mullins is supposedly a "racing ambassador" I find this concept most peculiar.

In Mullins article today in the bible - he gave no mention of this one. Only confirmed the Midnight Club did a nice piece of work to confirm his place.  Oh and the bit about Ruby.

wpmullins.com includes Quiscover Fontaine as one of five runners but it has been swerved by AP and Ruby.

the ebsite also confirms Quel Espirit, which he said yesterday was a non runner!  Take no notice of the website - they were just his entries.

^^^ hmm. I did not spot Quel Esprit but was encouraged by its listing Ruby as On His Own's jockey, which must surely be a recent addition.

Mullins told me on Saturday morning that he had switched Quiscover to Aintree from Fairyhouse because he was likely to get "a lot of weight" in the Irish race. I think he'd have had about 11 stone. I reported that here:

http://gu.com/p/36m75/tw

At the same time, he said Quel Esprit was likely to miss Aintree in favour of Punchestown. His website is a bit rickety but he does actually say that about QE here:

In today's Post, Frank Berry says David Casey will ride Quiscover.

Interesting runner given his 14lb pull with Organisedconfusion on their Ire GN form last year, and 55 pts bigger in BF market. Kept to hurdles this season to keep weight down, and Mullins only runner for JP. WM quoted in RP 15th Feb " Has a lovely weight, think he will like trip and track"

Negatives are hasn't won beyond 2m4f, however regular comments of "kept on/stayed on" give cause for optimism re stamina, and four of seven wins have been on heavy, price takes account of that.

Certainly appear to be worse priced horses in the market.

Must admit I agree.  His only race over a long trip was excellent form esp when you look at the weights. Top trainer, owner who likes a punt, feather weight.  I can see him starting more like 20s. Seems to have snuck under the radar.
