138,139 seems cut off normally and was 69th in weights last year, not sure previous years. Any thoughts as seems less garbage in the field.

I'm hoping the 139's get in though McCain thinks its unlikely Wymott gets in. Also whats the rule when they have to pick one form the 139's - random draw, alphabetical, ??

Thanks in advance

guru, The average over last 20 odd years is 77th on the list. Remember a few may be chucked out if they don't meet the new criteria.

If they have to pick one, i.e a few tied at 139, they'll go with the highest rated at the time.

It's hard to make comparisons because there are usually 30 odd more entries than there are this year and 8(ish) horses haven't qualified yet. If the same proportion drop out as last year the cut off would be somewhere round horse 56 (10 st 3).

And it would be a tragedy if State of Play doesn't get in.
