Does anyone know if he's lost the ride on Carruthers for good, see Noel Fehily is riding the horse tomorrow

Don't think he rides the horse well, always makes a few blunders when ridden by him yet didn't touch a twig when ridden by a claimer at Haydock

An explanation for the switch from part-owner Alan Waller in his local paper:

"..........a transformation that Waller partly credits to Noel Fehily, the top professional jockey who temporarily replaced the horse’s regular rider Mattie Batchelor on his seasonal reappearance at Cheltenham.

“We wanted a second opinion on why Carruthers had lost his form,” said Waller.

“Noel rode Carruthers to be third at Cheltenham and when he got off he said the horse would benefit from wearing a tongue tie or perhaps even having a breathing operation.

“The horse was subsequently tested at full gallop and the vet said there was a problem. So the tongue-tie was employed for the first time on Saturday and, with Mattie back on board, we saw the benefits when they pinged the last two fences and kept galloping."
