Tried everything last five years for accomodation at the festival usually stay for 2 nights drive down monday stay monday and go racing tuesday and wednesday, has anyone got any tips on where is good value to stay over and any places in particular, much appreciated
)hire a van - sleep in leisure centre car park,up at 7am for a morning swim/sauna - right as rain, after racing - shower and change - we slept in the car for 8 years, its the most comfifest of all accomadation, plus your up early and got best location.as soon as you ve had your morning shower you feel fine, plus if you are doing chelthenham properly them getting off to sleep is no prob - cos your hammered.a few do this in a camper van - but expensive unless you can borrow one,car is best, roll front seats back to nearly flat, sleeping bag and quilt, its heaven(top tip - 2 pair of socks required).its that comfy ,we ve done all 4 days of meeting, what you save on accomdation pays for another day or some of your betting.i d still stay in car ,but non of my mates will do it now ,all grown out of it,
)if youve been festival a few times - option 2 is stay 30mile out and dont go near chelthenham,in and out in the day, worcester and stow are good towns ,cheapest accom is 25 a night.its 2 junctions on motorway.
)i dont believe your post as no one can stay in chelt for 2 nights - all accom is for the week only - mon to fri.its 4 nights at double the normal rate.approx 200 each - if theirs 4 of you - then you can rent a house in centre for 800-1000,so thats better,
)the desperate option - tourist info have a list of households who are looking to rent a room in their house out,you live with family as a guest, plus breakfast - but could get lumbered with a right bunch, mind you the lady might be up for tucking you in(or worse the husband).
)win scoop 6 on saturday - hire a floor of the queens, panaramic resturant - do it in style, but you still wouldnt enjoy yourself as much as you would in the car.
