Went the Sat/Sun a few years back, Joe Lively paid for the expses. Seriously thinking of going to this rather than the festival.

Always go Sunday (hate crowds) Saturday, full of pub trips.

Bula, Saturday in mid December, is surprisingly & refreshingly quiet.

Yes, Saturday of the Open is overhyped relative to several other days at Cheltenham. I agree the December meeting is very good, as is Trials Day (sometimes).

If I could change one thing about the course it would be their obsession with 2 1/2 m G3 handicap chases. it seems to be the law that there has to be one at every cheltenham meeting. How about some variety lads!

Going this year for the first time. Can't wait. The sunday looks like some good contests are likely to be in store.

the best mate enclosure seemed very empty compared to recent years and judging by sundays poor card with 2 novice races a c/js race and the usual flat race. ill give it a miss thanks

Best Mate was almost deserted yesterday...

I slightly disagree about tomorrow's card though, just because the 2 novice races seem quite strong (especially the chase).
