Running in the 4:55 grade 2 novice hurdle and will not even have to be extended to win at a massive 8/1
only had 2 hurdle races, first bolting up beating fists of fury by 9 lengths in first gear and then throwen straight in against the big boys when beaten 11 lengths by Mourad in a grade 2 at leopardstown, was travelling all over the field that day (just as well as Mourad) until getting tired in the very heavy ground which does not suit him,has not run at any of the festivals, has targated this race and will be very fresh and well, the only reason you are getting such a price is because he is not from a big stable,p carberry has been booked to ride and his style is perfect for the horse, everything is in his favour and loves a good bit of ground
I've been waiting to back this horse for months and then read this today on irishracing.com
Mossey Joe is expected to benefit from the run when he makes his reappearance in the Irish Daily Mirror Novice Hurdle at Punchestown tomorrow. The Moscow Society gelding will be making his first start for Declan McNamara in the Grade 2 event.
The County Clare-based trainer has revealed that the eight-year-old is set for a chasing campaign following tomorrow's run.
Mossey Joe, winner of two point-to-points and a hunters chase last season, hit the headlines when running away with a Grade 3 Novice Hurdle at Cork last December.
He was well-fancied against some seasoned campaigners in the Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown and travelled well for a long way before fading in the straight behind Mourad.
“I've had him for two months and he's had a few niggly problems,” said McNamara today.
“We'd expect him to improve a good lot and if he ran into a place we'd be very happy.
“Chasing is his main aim and he'll go chasing after this. Once the ground is safe we'll keep him on the go.
“He's handled decent ground before so I wouldn't be too worried about it tomorrow.”
Will still back him but a smaller bet than I had planned, but I'd keep an eye out for any market support, positive jock booking.

there's nothing outstanding in the race, think joe is a great shout, will def be backed in running the way it travels. will be backing and putting in an in running lay at short odds...see what happens!

Thought Carberry should have pulled him wide a few furlongs before and made more of a sustained run though rather than trying to sneak up the inside with the handbrake on
Bad luck getting beaten by a 33/1 shotThought Carberry should have pulled him wide a few furlongs before and made more of a sustained run though rather than trying to sneak up the inside with the handbrake on
disappointed to be beaten by a 33/1 shot, didnt help that mossey pulled hard most of the way round, dont think it mattered in the end as the winner kept finding, still a small profit each way at 9/1 but not the result i was after

Very unlucky I thought. Seemed to run into a lot of backsides before he got a clear path. Probably would have won if he'd gotten out earlier as the winner wasn't pulling away on the run in.

The horse wasnt good enough. You need to start picking winners to be respected on here.
I have delivered but there are a lot of people on here not coming up with the goods I'm afraid.

It was clear he wasn't fully fit, hetraveled well but fitness told at the end. There was no market support so the connections knew he wasn't fully fit.

I know he's only 10/11 but with two point to point wind and a hunter chase win he has plenty of experience over fences and now is threw time for his supporters. Max bet, mossy joe 18.50 killarney @ 10/11
In running lay for half stake at 1.2 given how he travels and hasn't finished his last twice.

Trainer said he is to be put away after this run, he'll be back in the autumn for a novice chase campaign, will end up in the 4 miler imo.
Still along with Coscorrig he looks value even at evens tomorrow, Divine Rhapsody looks a bet too.
