since 1992 only 6 of 38 contenders have got round. its not a good stat if you're backing quinz.

2009 National - Big Fella Thanks came sixth as a 7-year-old (foaled late April so technically a 6-year-old [;)]) carrying 11-1. Quinz carries 10-8 so may have a shout for a place if not the win. Several online playing five places.

Many of the 7 year olds to run where 2.5 milers and not likely to get around.
Also if you have one that stays 3 miles plus ( Quinz) then there is every chance he will run a big race. If you jump well it doesnt matter how old you are. Look at Mon Parrain in the Topham yesterday. I have never seen a horse jump better and he is only a 5 year old. Sure Quinz has stamina doubts but he has never looked like a non stayer. |

Quinz will be the second 7 year old in my lifetime:-)
