Selecting Local Hero might be a bit of a risk but think it's a big price. AP back on for the ride and the horse has never lost with the champ on board. Seems to run better in smallish fields and can be excused a bad run at Haydock on heavy ground. Beat Third Intention well back in Jan but is still the bigger price.
Caroles Legacy is a horse with lots of scope for improvement and will benefit from the mare's allowance in this one. Looking at the field, get the impression that it's the only horse on the upturn amongst a field of those on the downturn.
Woolcombe Folly is well capable of lugging top weight in this field. Never thought it had the class to challenge in the QM but is good enough to dominate most of these handicaps. Word is that it wasn't quite right at Chelt anyway. Only horse that gets near it here is Tchico Polos.
Tharawaat ran a decent enough race to finish 6th @ Cheltenham but again has done most of its better work in smaller fields. Comes from an exciting young stable. The 2 places are likely to be filled by Wishfull Thinking and Medermit on paper but if one slips up, can see Tharawaat being in the best position to sneak in at a nice price.
