Get Me Out of Here have a go at taking on Big Bucks, rather than go for a handicap over 2m 4. I know the trip would have been a complete unknown, but maybe at Aintree it would have been do-able. I'm sure it wasn't even considered as a remote possibility, but I'd have been very interested in how he'd have done.

I'd love to know what on earth has happened to this horse this year. Had it down as one to follow after last years impressive showings.

Ian, Get Me Out Of Here was poorly the first few times he ran this season. The trainer didn't know. The owner backed him each time he ran, but despite the jockey's urgings he was beaten out of sight.
Just before the festival, the trainer realised the horse needed an operation. The vet, er, mended him, the owner backed him, the jockey urged him, but he still got beat. |
