Owes me a packet, and I think over the extended distance and race fit from Cheltenham he can run a big race over 2m4f.

Looked to be outpaced in the Supreme, trip should be ideal, just a case of whether he's good enough?

who else would be in it? rock on ruby?
Report Minger March 30, 2011 3:05 PM BST
So why is he entered in the Scottish Champion Hurdle over 2m?
Report wellchief March 30, 2011 7:30 PM BST
I think his mark of 154 for the Scottish Champion is too high.

Recession Proof is also entered in that, who only has 1.5 lengths to make up but is rated about a stone less.
Report GAZO March 31, 2011 6:35 PM BST
dont think he will stay 2m 4f,unless its a small field
Report thefarmer March 31, 2011 6:40 PM BST
Ideal race for Cue Card imo. He wont be winning top class races over 2m but he looks to have a future over longer distances if he ever learns to settle.
Report revedesivola March 31, 2011 6:43 PM BST
hes definately bred to get it, id expect him to no bothers. im sure as a second season chaser he would get 3 miles plus. 2miles 4 at the minute would be ideal i think
Report BornToWin March 31, 2011 8:44 PM BST
Cheltenham bumper winners tend to need further when adding obstacles, so I would be interested to see him over 2m 4f or further. I would like to see Cheltenian go for the Neptune just to hammer home this point [;)] Then we could maybe be spared the bumper winner euphoria in the opener.
Report red and white March 31, 2011 9:29 PM BST
Convinced he'd stay but you'd have to wonder about their tactics. He was given a similar ride in the supreme to the bula ie. produced on the home turn for a turn of foot which the bula showed he clearly lacked. Wouldn't be lumping on as he also needs to prove he can battle now. I was a big fan but was proved wrong at Cheltenham. He looked very well beforehand so there were no excuses unlike the bula (interrupted prep apparently).
Report Paul4 March 31, 2011 10:56 PM BST
borntowin - didnt they say Cheltenian would almost definitely go for the neptune and if not the albert bartlett?
Report BornToWin March 31, 2011 11:58 PM BST
I hadn't heard Paul4 I just saw him in the betting for the Neptune and assumed there must be rumblings of going that way. I am no huge fan of the horse, it was more a pop at the way the last 2 bumper winners in particular have been hyped out of all proportion.
Report Rondetto April 1, 2011 11:12 AM BST
Was sick of telling everyone he was the lay of the meeting at Cheltenham and now it's where can we run him and win now?

Leopards don't chance their spots so I for one wouldn't back him in a 3 horse race round Hereford.

The problem with Cue Card is he is tripless in top class company and wont get home at any distance IMO

You seen it against Menoroah and he did virtually the same thing in the Suprmeme.

Wanna lose money? Then all you have to do is back him at Aintree if he turns up.
Report Alvarado April 1, 2011 12:27 PM BST
this horse has been hyped up so much whatever he achieves he,ll go down as a dissapontment hes just not good enough hes a genuine 140 animal just as i sed he was back in december
Report neill d April 1, 2011 12:53 PM BST
Lads he's only 5 and he's bred to get 3 miles, steady on, he should go chasing imo
Report Desmond Orchard April 1, 2011 1:13 PM BST
LOL, I know Neill, tall poppy syndrome. If you're not a world beater, you're total carp!
I've posted this before elsewhere so apologies, but if you take away all the hype and look at his SNH run in isolation, you would have to say he looks a decent prospect. When he picked them up hard on the steel turning for home when they were all at it, Tizzard should've kicked on instead of grandstanding with his double handful, when he had been fighting for his head all the way round. He then got done for toe by some seriously speedy types. I've no doubt it was a high class renewal and the first 5 home will turn out to be quality horses. Over further, I'd allow him to bowl along in front and set sail a long way from home, I reckon it would take a decent novice to reel him in from there.
Report ReaseHeath April 1, 2011 7:09 PM BST
already a course and distance winner.
Report sj April 1, 2011 7:12 PM BST
No excuses at Cheltnham he was just plain not good enough
Report neill d April 1, 2011 8:00 PM BST
Watched him closely Desmond and he travelled great, like he always does, but I'd have thought they needed to get him to settle better if anything, he's so exuberant. Watching the race, I seem to remember Cue Card and a few more playing their hands early while Ruby and Geraghty waited and ended up finishing 1-2. I wonder might they try absolutely burying him in the pack berfore front running, although he does have the cruising speed and jumping to front run. Its definitely something I'd look at adopting when he tackles fences though.
Report wellchief April 2, 2011 10:49 AM BST
I think there's been a bit of an over reaction on here and I certainly wouldn't write him off yet.  I wouldn't be backing him at short prices at the moment but I still think he's got a big future
Report mutley77 April 4, 2011 10:37 AM BST
Cue carnage in the ring.

bridle horse, I will be laying it again wp, and will continue to lay it until it either proves me wrong or people stop falling for it at short odds

mega star, gary moore,s. ran a cracker to finish 5th at cheltenham.
Report Giddy April 5, 2011 10:08 PM BST
Trip not a problem. Jockey is!Think he has pressure issues in the limelight. The ride Cue Card got at Cheltenham was
dire and please remember that race was over 2 miles and not just the home straight. I still dont think he would have
won but never had the oppotunity to show his true worth
Report CVByrne April 5, 2011 10:18 PM BST
Horse finds nothing, don't throw away more money on him.
Report Far From Trouble April 5, 2011 11:58 PM BST
Nothing wrong with the ride in the Supreme. I'm as big a fan of the horse as anybody and he plainly wasn't good enough
Report Brodie April 6, 2011 12:41 AM BST
agree. he's a cruiser who doesn't really quicken.
Report Rondetto April 6, 2011 9:47 AM BST
Changed days me thinksLaugh From a certainty at Cheltenham to a no-hoper at Aintree. Be just like the thing he wins doing handstandsLaugh
Report red and white April 9, 2011 1:59 PM BST
I didn't back him but credit to the horse for the way he battled on after a mess of a race from his point of view. Not one to put your mortgage on unless he proves he can settle. He seems to be jumping worse with experience and is looking like he needs excuses each race.
Report Rondetto April 9, 2011 2:44 PM BST
How's that for a repeat performance? We summed him up well lads.

Can't believe he went off 5/2 fav[:o]
