I think they are, they just call their friends at goldman and jpmorgan and boom.

http://www.resourceinvestor.com/2012/05/04/are-banks-manipulating-precious-metals-futures?ref=hp

April 30th there was a massive short on gold 7500 contracts, then the following day, may 1st  crude went from $106 to $98 and has been lost at sea ever since. It's so obvious whats going on here, i wish i had put the pieces together on april 30th, could have made a lot of money.

I'm tempted to buy oil here, as this manipulation will come to an end sooner or later and oil will explode to the upside as the government shorts get busted, thats my take on it anyway.

I'll give you credit for two things. First, being honest (i wish i had put the pieces together on april 30th, could have made a lot of money), not like the clown from down under aftertiming the time of sunrise every day, and second, for cluing in and putting up your thoughts.

This is ALL, everything you see taking place on these centrally controlled markets now, about central bank efforts to LOWER the price of OIL. Everything else is noise. The precious metals paper price control by the banking cartel is an ongoing thing which they have demonstrated they can overtly and without impunity manipulate, so that's not the issue. OIL is.

There's a cycle of deflation in process, and those who understand what deflation really is know it's bank balance sheets imploding, not cheaper flat screen TVs. The central banks need to launch another coordinated money printing orgy to attempt to plug the whole exposed by insolvent banks. They can't do that at OIL over $100. So OIL will be beat down through various means (rising USD, margin calls, SPRs, and data that supports economic slow-down) to enable the next round of money printing orgy.

IMO, it's too early to buy OIL yet, they are not done beating it up yet. And betting against outfits that can conjure money out of thin air, control the financial main street media, control the creation and dissemination of economic data, and are above the law is not something you want to make a habit of doing.

Long OIL, no doubt. Central banks can't print OIL and cheap oil is gone FOREVER. But wait to buy lower.

Pierre, I bet that little condescending pat on the back from Menelaus makes you feel a whole lot better.
Imo one is crazy ever to go against any major economic play by the US Govt in any market at anty time, be it oil, currencies, interest rates whatever.
Their pockets are too deep to compete against. You might get it right now and again but not consistently.
You might therefore in fact be better to consider going with the play you think you have " clearly" recognised, and ( say) sell some short term calls.
Remember there is an upcoming  US presidential election, that might just be an influencing factor here.

"I'll give you credit for two things. First, being honest"

my view is that all the regulars here  post in good faith, therefore honestly.

All of them except you melly- your a proven liar over and over again.

pieere-well spotted for a start, but do you think melly could actually be right re deflating oil?

melly- why don't you  stick to that kind of posting, without the ranting and the insults?

much more interesting.Love

First of all, no one posting on here that can fog a mirror is interested in your "view". They know a halfwit loudmouth when they see one. Second, the only thing bigger than your stupidity on here is your dishonesty. How many time do you have to get caught in a lie for you to clue in that.....everyone else has clued in. In summary, you are an obnoxious, epically ignorant fraud.

i guess you just could'nt do it melly could you.You poor little man.

The sadness of your existance is profound.

A more bitter and deeply ingrained loser there never was.

even when people are nice to you, your inbuilt hatred of success powers on.

you were born a loser, your living you life as a loser, you have a losers attitude.

your offensive and boorish.

turn your life around you pathetic dweeb.

The only thing profound on here is how much I own you. (HINT: you may consider stopping frothing at the mouth one of these days and throwing fits every time I post)

The second most profound thing on here is your massive stupidity.
