and there i was thinking you had the key to success already
Report rickysomas1 May 16, 2012 3:33 PM BST
no mate my numbers on WTA are getting worse and worse... and ATP and soccer better and better....would it work according to you?
Report bb66 May 16, 2012 3:33 PM BST
maybe my key of success ist: dog must be a bigger mug or mental midget than fav ever can beLaughLaughLaugh
Report rickysomas1 May 16, 2012 3:35 PM BST
bb66 I'm not complaining my daily losses ( which was fortunately covered by trading ) I'm thinking about:

Cetkovska 6.4
Medina  4.5
Goerges 2.3

did we have 9 matches already? LOL
Report bb66 May 16, 2012 3:48 PM BST
think I heard Woz had an injury, and tbh if you look at h2h Serena was far from being value.
Report good value losers May 16, 2012 3:49 PM BST
whenever a few favs lose, as they do from time to time, someone starts a fred like this. no one starts a fred saying "omg! 15 out of 16 favs won today!!!"
Report rickysomas1 May 16, 2012 3:51 PM BST
bb66 yes... Serena far from being value... GVL I started this thread just to put here a question... cause my WTA numbers are not satisfying me... that's all...
Report good value losers May 16, 2012 3:54 PM BST
75% of wta favs win. that's a very solid number. so imagine a roulette wheel with 27 reds and 9 blacks, backing dogs is like playing black. ok, that's a very inexact analogy as the odds aren't the same, but it shows what sort of hit rate you're looking at. if you have the stomach for long losing runs then go for it.
Report rickysomas1 May 16, 2012 3:56 PM BST
that'0s exactly what I was thinking GVL.... I'll leaving WTA alone for a bit while I think a solution about it... thanks for the analogy.. it gives out the idea in a simple way.. just like as it is...
Report good value losers May 16, 2012 3:59 PM BST
i think it's also fair to say that most wta favs trade higher in running. the hardest part is backing the fav and letting the bet run even though she looks like she's having a bad day, because the fav will often win eventually.
Report rickysomas1 May 16, 2012 4:00 PM BST
yeah that's ahrd... and today it has been hard too... first move is probably to reduce wta stakes just like I did before...
Report bb66 May 16, 2012 4:03 PM BST
fully agree here to gvl, that's why I usually top up in play, and in most cases favs prevail. But if I'm not convinced of a fav winning pre match, I won't bet on him/her in play even at better odds, when (s)he is already behind.

@gvl you raised a point concerning my thread and in play bets, I asked for your reasoning in my thread, but maybe you didn't look into it since then.
Report MaxDemon May 16, 2012 4:04 PM BST
never back low odds fav's in wta prematch
Report bb66 May 16, 2012 4:05 PM BST
@Max can't agree in general on that
Report rickysomas1 May 16, 2012 4:06 PM BST
I can't agree on that too... there must a key for a good selection.... just like it's there in ATO matches... MAx Simon turned out to be a winner Laugh
Report good value losers May 17, 2012 3:34 PM BST
stosur the 1st losing fav today. so that's 4 wins out of 5 so far.
Report rickysomas1 May 17, 2012 3:36 PM BST
and that was a tricky one too... yeah GVL you are right... Happy the roulette thing explains it well...
Report good value losers May 17, 2012 3:37 PM BST
but there are days when it seems all the favs are losing, they do happen.
Report rickysomas1 May 17, 2012 3:37 PM BST
yeh like yesterday for example... Grin thanks for your collaboration.. really appreciated...
Report gaekwon May 17, 2012 6:58 PM BST
a real good point, gvl
i hope you start blogging on wta soon
Report good value losers May 17, 2012 8:41 PM BST
nah, it was fun when it started because the rev and 70k started at the same time, good laugh seeing what the others had blogged. and it started in the winter not much else to do. but it became a bit of a chore, and when the weather got better time not well spent. and it also stopped being of any assistance to the discipline, in fact a hindrance as i started thinking "oh fck what am i going to say if this loses?" that's not what you want to be thinking!

anyway, back to the point of the fred, 6 out of 7 favs won today, but all traded higher, some a lot! make of that what you will.
Report good value losers May 17, 2012 8:42 PM BST
actually penne was a 1.01 train, and i wasn't watching the serena market too closely, so she might've been a train too.
Report rickysomas1 May 17, 2012 8:45 PM BST
serena touched 1.2 max
Report ;[p May 17, 2012 9:06 PM BST
sure? i think serena was bit higher 1.28?
Report rickysomas1 May 18, 2012 8:24 AM BST
no I'm not sure but we have no possibility to check it now through the market
Report gaekwon May 18, 2012 11:55 AM BST
feel sharapova will beat venus as she looks to be getting old/slow
is serena playing as well as in her heydays or is she also slowing down as well?
Report good value losers May 18, 2012 12:01 PM BST
i thought venus looked pretty good yesterday. but today's possible subtext is interesting. venus has virtually nailed her olympics spot now, so may not be bothered. otoh she can still possibly get a seed for rg i think. but seeding at a slam doesn't matter that much as you don't get a bye. i'd suspect she'll take the win today if it's given but isn't going to bust a gut to try and get a seed.
Report gaekwon May 18, 2012 12:15 PM BST
gvl, where can i read the news venus is in olympics?

anyway, i really haven't seen much of williams' bro in their prime except their highlights where they pretty muscled everyone

nowadays, their power looks to be somewhat diminished and venus doesnt seem to be moving well, but thats just me
Report good value losers May 18, 2012 12:16 PM BST
can't remember where i read it tbh wtaworld probably
Report good value losers May 18, 2012 12:18 PM BST
sorry, it's called tennisforum.com now, used to be called wtaworld until the wta threatened them and got them to change it.
Report gaekwon May 18, 2012 12:21 PM BST
thanks
Report rickysomas1 May 21, 2012 9:20 AM BST
@GVL

you'd better stop with joints mate... Cool
Report good value losers May 21, 2012 9:23 AM BST
