at 1.7 you are backing a guy who is down 13-16 in h2h (and their age is less than a year apart).
you are backing a guy who has struggled moving in his last two matches against a guy who just came off one of his best matches ever.
you are backing a guy who has had less than two days to recover from a 5-hour match (and Djoko doesn't recover quickly- remember US Open 2010)
You are backing a guy who has won 4 Grand Slams versus a guy who has won 10.

1.7 just doesn't make any sense to me. I'm guessing backers are blinded by the 6-0 h2h stats in 2010. I watched all these matches and Djokovic played his best tennis in all of them. His movement in particular was superb which is a must when dealing with the Nadal topspin. But Djokovic has moved very poorly his last two matches. Why would that change now? If anything I would expect him to move worse after that long match yesterday.

Surface is a non factor. Nadal has the advantage on clay and Djokovic has the advantage on fast hard courts. This is a slow, high bouncing hard court that suits Nadal better than any surface, except clay.

Odds should be 1.4 Nadal in my opinion.

U have a point that djoko did play a 5 set match which i did not expect particularly if u have to face NADAL next. Tho i must say nadals heavy ground stroke were jus too much for federer and he struggled to hit flat shots and made far too many unforced errors. Therefore imo Djoko is young and he should recover easily over the 24 hour rest which should not be a issue. Thats y don't be fooled at those odds. This is a tourny djoko has won twice and in the US Open he had less time to recover. He has a new fitness regime something to bear in mind.

the problem for nadal backers is that nadal doesnt really believe against djokovic and that's why he comes off worst on the big points. Djokovic just has his measure style wise. and the other crucial factor is that the thing in nadal's favour - djokovic's condition - may not be fully exploited by nadal because he has it in his head that he needs to be v v aggressive against djok and not grind him down with lots of long rallies. i expect djok to really go after rafa's serve. think djok is the best player in this tournament and murray second best. in the womens - aza best from clijsters and li

i am happy to classed at crazy if that's how you make money. I remmember these exact same posts last year everytime Djoko played Nadal and what was the result? Djoko has the game to beat Nadal. You talk djoko's fatigue after 5 hour game, well nadal isnt exactly 100% either with those knees!

I am more then happy to join the crazy gang and back Djoko tomorrow and trade live during the game! Good Luck.

Djoker didn't drop a set in 2 matches on clay last year

6-0 last year is more important to me than 13-16 overall as is 3 slams last year compared to Nadal's 1.

yes because Murray's level of tennis in both those matches was exactly the same CrazyCrazyCrazyCrazy

The Djokivic that beat Nadal 6 times was almost impossible to break. I didn't count but he must have been broken 6-8 times yesterday. If Murray can do it why can't Nadal?
Report Birchola January 29, 2012 12:13 AM GMT
Because Murray is the best returner in the game. He's more likely to break serve than hold serve.
Report traderboy January 29, 2012 12:18 AM GMT
What and Nadal cant return?!..must be Nadal's serve that won him all those GS's then!!
Report mesmerised January 29, 2012 12:19 AM GMT
The wind at times according to Novak was a contributing factor as to why his serve was being broken.
Report Birchola January 29, 2012 12:22 AM GMT
He can return, but not as well as Murray.  Also Nadal is a leftie.  A disadvantage he has over Murray when returning Djoko's serve.

hope Nole wins for Harry
Report traderboy January 29, 2012 12:29 AM GMT
Murray kept having 2nd serves to go at coz Djok didn't serve well. He's been pounding first serves on the lines time after time recently and that's been the major reason for the upturn in his success. Didn't see many of them yesterday.
Report traderboy January 29, 2012 12:34 AM GMT
Wimbledon final I backed Nadal and it just never looked like he'd win because he couldn't break serve and couldn't get control of the ralies, couldn't play a winner. But watching Djok Murray I was thinking whoever gets through this I should back nadal. Having doubts now though but one thing I do know is I wouldn't back Djok at 1.68 the way he played
Report tornado January 29, 2012 12:43 AM GMT
To be absolutely frank Murray has the game to beat Djokovic as he did when djoko retired 6-3 3-0 to Murray. But Murray has far too much respect for Nadal and Federer which is y he would not have prevailed had he got to the finals. Nadal seem of a old era where he always has the upper hand over the great man Federer. Novak and Murray should have met in the finals...

I would predict that Nadal will give Djoko a long exhausting game but Djoko will come out wining simply because he is far too talented as he has the shot making of federer and the speed of nadal which imo is a lethal combo.

Good luck to all may the best man win!!!

the best returner in the game of alltime is Djokovic. Forget about the stat that involves Murray's game against DeBakker, Rochus, Troicki, ...etc players ranked 50+. How many GS s/f AND finals Murra played last year? How many MS1000 s/f AND finals murr played?

Returning against Zeballos and against Federer isn'tthe same thing, my friend. And that's what the stat cannot pick up.

Warned you - The Joker will be tired more than Nadal after 5 sets and 24 hours less rest than Nadal.....Nadal is not die yet, and yes this hard surface is not quick like last Ausralian open. Nadal really want nomer 1 back from Djokovic. I'm a big Djokovic fan, he is a monster and I hope he will win, but I will be carefull about this match. Don't matter the last 6 wins againt Nadal. Enjoy the game. I expect 5 sets if Djokovic is not very tired, but he proof have a better condition with this coach than with previous one.
