remember seeing horage win first time out at ayr - when asked why he'd come such a long way for a 2yo debut, trainer said he knew he had a good horse and in scotland he could get a proper bet on

harwood horses were regularly 'overbet' - was never a fan of starkey so tended to avoid them (and this was pre-dancing brave), the second jock (was it tony clark or someone earlier?) seemed to do well too...i did however keep backing a horse called hays because i worked at a lemonade/beer bottling plant of that name and remember backing it first time out 15p e/w and it won at 8/1 which meant about half days pay as a poor student!

1. Advertise it on the forum a couple of days in advance, and bump it a couple of times, so that more people have a chance to know it's coming. 2. Perhaps have it at a different time (maybe 1 day earlier), because there would be some who might want to have a go (including me) who really want to be studying the first day's card the evening before.
