That film was made for him surely.......Thing is, I liked his TV Stuff, but he's just got this uncanny knack of being involved in f'cking rank films.

numbers, it was only funded,  because Cruise and Kidman had to be cast.

True Grit - 2010

Well I'm amazed True Grit 2010 gets a mention from you Guinness, it's an excellent remake imo and I really enjoyed watching it at the Brixton Ritzy.

Also 'There Will Be Blood' in that poll is beyond ridiculous, a classic film with a tremendous performance by DDL.

Slippy: My main reason for putting it on here is that although it's nearer to the book than the original, is the performance of Bridges..

He killed the film for me (even though he would have been my pick for the Wayne role) I could not understand a farkin word he said. Which was extremely disappointing for me. and consequently didn't allow me enjoy the film. The Mattie Ross role was brilliantly played by Hailee Steinfeld, but did not save the film. Well not for me anyway..

Well fair enough for your opinion but I don't agree with you. Jeff Bridges is a brilliant actor and he was superb in True Grit. I loved the film anyway and like you I'm quite critical at times when the need arises

What dreams may come, starring Robin Williams. So sickly bad i was almost sick. Watching that was like getting a preview of Purgatory.

I also hated both Matrix & Inception, total style over substance and i was bored of both within half an hour.

Films like Jaws The Revenge were terrible, but at least they were so bad they made you laugh.

I also like the Coen's, but hate Christopher Nolan films with a passion.

Russ Meyer made some crackers.

The Limey is one of only 2 films i've ever walked out on yet it seems to get good reviews whenever i look...first 40 mins was terrible, i can vouch for that! (the other is Eyes Wide Shut fwiw)

Walking out of a movie is a liberating thing....recommended (particularly if you can sneak into another film that has just started, as we did!)
