Taylors Sky, last years times , this years times.....

1st round   28.55    29.30
2nd round  28.79    28.81
3rd round   28.53    28.80
Q f             28.21
Sf              28.21
F               28.17

The improvement last year from 2nd Round to 3rd round was 26 spots
the improvement this year was negligable.

last year he came out of 3 and met barefoot bullet on a good day , going down  2 lengths
this year he came out of 2 and met young sid, going down 4 lengths

last year sky's sectionals were around 4.80, this year his best has been 4.88, but he never had trap 1 until the quarter-final

if he gets the 4.82 start from 1 as he did on 7th april in a trial, i think we are going to see charlies 30 spots re-appear from up his sleeve as they did last year ! Laugh

He's not running well, sorry Charlie ye can moan about those who say so in Fridays paper but he is not running that well. He is not trapping showing limited pace to the corner.

In my opinion of course.

As for last year he was entitled to improve as the competiton went on as he had only 4 races in his life (i think) before the comp. He may well improve again this year but he has too considerably, sure he's got his trap 1 next round.

Longwood days out traped him moved into him!
Sky ain't going to know what way to look with rioga beside him!
Can't see how he finds the time unless he unearths what's wrong with him!
That ain't the same dog 28feb!

Sky in my opinion will do well to make the semi-finals, not the dog he was, and I dont think charlie has anything up his sleeve, Boher Paddy could also miss out on Tuesday after a hard race last night,he has a tough draw to overcome, how many will the great Cha have for the semi-finals one maybe Bucks Wink

not running well granted but still in comp and in a qf race should qualify from with some of the better dogs so far drawn in 3rd qf against each other i wouldnt take my stake money back and cancel all bets if offered just yet

but not looking good as things stand and far from looking like can retain crown
Report woodmanchester May 13, 2012 9:13 PM BST
Nobody can doubt Charlie is the master at bringing out the best in his dogs. Sky has been a shade disappointing for my money, but i wouldnt be at all surprised to see him bounce back to his superb best

Dont worry thanks Pocket, i get out plenty. Not a big drinker though. Even when i've been going to Vue to watch the Derby on the inter-track, i've used my free drink voucher on pepsi rather than beer Happy

Report michael59 May 15, 2012 10:06 PM BST
ive watched tonights qfs and pocket pairs with the trap draw for taylors in 1 and a bang railer in 2 plus jfk winning like it did tonight if you get the opportunity to get your money back from the antepost you hold i honestly believe you should grab it with both hands,

Taylors Sky backers would want to hope Rioga and Bert do for each other in the 1st semi as on all of what we have seen he can't read either and the way he has ran i can't see him back running them either.
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y May 16, 2012 8:54 AM BST
read = lead

Laugh be some bloody dog if he could read
Report woodmanchester May 16, 2012 8:56 AM BST
Sky ticking over nicely, imo. Plotted up in semi and looking good to reach the final again. Charlie has got his champions to trap many times in finals, just look at Ninja Jamie etc. The JFK dog to beat but wouldnt surprise me to see Sky go very close to joining some legends with a brace of Derby wins Happy

i will cry if the sky / jfk reverse forcast comes up.  Was looking to bet it last night but hills had taken down the opening offer LaughLaugh of 25.  Was still there till a few days ago.

He ran a lot better again last nite
Loner could lead most dogs took some gound off sky at the first , sky seemed to not drive the 3rd but powered his way up the middle.
Snapper had great run round

Charlie needs to find 20 spots and his home and dry!!!!
Report woodmanchester May 21, 2012 9:09 AM BST
Wide open but still wouldnt swop Sky. Draw not as bad as you may first think. Judicial unlikely to be edging in and Adonis should give Sky plenty of room for a charge at the bend. Bert and Snapper could vie for the lead also. Looks a bit cut and thrust but would always like Charlie on my side in these instances. Easy to say but whatever leads and kicks surely wins. Not sure how Ironman or Adonis reached the final really though. Sure they were about 50/1 apiece before the semis

sky hasnt trapped all competition what a time for it to burst out now and gone

the master will be hard at work Wink
