Already backed him at 3/1 for the heat and to win outright !!!!!!!! s**t.
Report Addy_D April 24, 2012 6:55 PM BST
heat isnt antepost is it?
Report woodmanchester April 24, 2012 9:36 PM BST
I was going to have a bet Friday but phoned Hills and they said it wouldnt be non-runner no bet, so leaving it till the day. Defeats the object of pricing up so early if you ask me. Therefore, sorry to say, think you might be on a loser Eastmead. I would dispute it if i was you though
Report Addy_D April 25, 2012 1:17 AM BST
definitelydispute it imo - ur on a day of the race market?
Report JaneWarner April 25, 2012 7:40 AM BST
Sorry.... How the f*** can a bet on a named selection in an individual six-dog greyhound race, with no reserves allowed, be anything other than "non-runner, no bet"?
Report woodmanchester April 25, 2012 7:46 AM BST
That's what you would imagine Jane, but i specifically asked the Hills telephonist would i get my money back non runner. He went away for a moment, to consult his supervisor and returned saying no. Crazy, could be quite simply they got it wrong though and dont know what theyre doing. Think of a number time with some of these bookies sometimes! Crazy

Saturday race 9 21.30 round one heat 18

trap 1 Meadow Bank Owl withdrawn lame at 10.05 am Thursday 26th April 2012 trap vacant

All five runners that are left will now automatically qualify (this is Eden Star's and Droopys Jet's  heat)

Wats de point of runnin then Plain
Report woodmanchester April 26, 2012 10:39 AM BST
According to Draper, Eden needs a run or two, trials not like races proper. Yes, if they all complete the course, all qualify
Report Zach_Thomas54 April 26, 2012 10:43 AM BST
HELP REQUIRED...

The sponsors were doing a 'Red Hot Treble' at enhanced odds of 5/2 which contained...

Taylors Sky
Razldazl Jayfkay
Eden Star

Now there is a NR in the Eden Star race... will this bet get honoured still?
Report FATTIEWHITEYSLOVEADRINK April 26, 2012 10:57 AM BST
Big fat no anyway can't have Eden on my mind till 100% fit!
Report Zach_Thomas54 April 26, 2012 11:11 AM BST
Well I basically thought I was getting 5/2 on Eden Star as I can't see Sky or JFK getting beat... also gives me an option if i wanted to trade out on Saturday as the other 2 are on Friday.
Report woodmanchester April 26, 2012 11:14 AM BST
Quiery it Zach. 12/1 non runner should make no difference
Report woodmanchester April 26, 2012 11:16 AM BST
Dont worry too much about Eden Fatty, it'll be alright on the night! Happy
Report BJG April 26, 2012 11:28 AM BST
Prob go to sp Zach imo
Report woodmanchester April 26, 2012 11:35 AM BST
Normally it would BSG but if it's special odds they may wish to recalculate the odds, which would be more or less the same, imo. Phone them Zach, if they reform, get on at the new odds
Report woodmanchester April 26, 2012 11:38 AM BST
and void your original bet, of course

Report BJG April 26, 2012 9:24 PM BST
ON FRIDAY in heat four 8.45:
El Clive is a non runner (off colour - withdrawn 3.19pm Thursday) - T5 Vacant. This is also a five-runner race where all five will now automatically qualify (Silverview Perky's heat)
Report woodmanchester April 26, 2012 10:10 PM BST
They say all 5 automatically qualify but if one ko, dnf coz it was sore, but recovered for the 2nd round, it wouldnt be eligible, would it? Strange things have happened in dog racing before, like dog being knocked over yet still winning!

I know only splitting hairs. For all intents and purposes, yes, all 5 qualify in those races Happy
Report woodmanchester April 26, 2012 10:12 PM BST
In other words, all they have to do is complete the course to qualify Happy

Dont know about Jordans. Might have been ko'd but did it still finish the course? Think the rule is first 5 dogs home. If it dont cross the winning line, it's not "home"?

EDEN STAR, as short as 9-1 fourth-favourite for the williamhill.com Derby, tore a shoulder muscle during his first-round heat victory on Saturday, and has been withdrawn from the competition.
Trainer Barrie Draper said: "I've just come back from the vet's, and the advice is to leave him off for four to six weeks.I don't take chances with my dogs. It's just one of those things. I'm gutted."
Eden Star, winner of the Racing Post Juvenile Championship in
February, had been set to lock horns with defending champion Taylors Sky in round two on Friday.
Report Czechbet April 30, 2012 2:48 PM BST
a real shame he went out this way, not exactly to the draw to take a chance on the injury either Sad Taylors Sky is the most charmed dog of all time imo

BURST OF MAGIC has been withdrawn by the stewards from the williamhill.com Derby after a routine test was officially reported positive for a steroid after the greyhound’s first round run. Itmeans trap four in heat 13 on Saturday will be vacant. An inquiry will follow as to the circumstances of the positive. The rules disqualify any such runner from taking further part in the event. The official time of withdrawal was 6.22pm on  Friday.

Barefoot Allstar OUT lame
Report BJG May 9, 2012 1:47 PM BST
BAREFOOT ALLSTAR, winner of the **** Scottish Derby final at Shawfield and a leading ante-post fancy for Wimbledon glory, has been withdrawn from the Derby after being reported lame at 1.17pm on Wednesday.

Paul Hennessy's charge was due to run from T5 in heat six on Saturday (arguably the hottest eliminator of all which includes defending champion Taylors Sky) and this will now be a five-runner heat.

been doing the antepost on here since hawks first win and this is def the worst iv seen for withdrawals.  Last year was ok,  was a few the year before but this year, theres been about 15 now.

probably a few more to come too before we'v finished.   Had a few nasty ones this week with eden and allstar but my worst has to be farloe premier in the semi final the year lord won.  Was a massive winner for me and instead of opening up at like 4.5 ish after the quarters, i think hills went 7's and then the market woke up, followed and he was in double figures shortly after.  Lord should have gone out that semi.  haha.  Sad
