Will we have markets on here for this i wonder. My 2nd favourite comp of the year, it's a great fair test with the long run up and the long run in.

He did run well after getting trouble on the bend, he showed massive pace 2 to 3 but never went by Bawna Missile at any stage to the pick up. I couldn't be backing him at short prices and have my doubts about him.

Only 1 bet for me tonight on the heats, Pool Hawk @ 4/1. He has a great draw and if coming away should be gone around the outside. He definately should have the leading off Slick Seattle and Kereight Bear and if going around in front they'll do well to back run him. Slick Seattle is the obvious danger but in my opinion he is the most dissappointing greyhound in Ireland and just always seems to find a way to lose. Lemon Velvet has a nice draw but i thought she ran desperate the last twice and she would have to lead up Bawna Missile which she could struggle to do.

Going to be a great race with will witch I'm happy he's run a nice race hope he's a slow burn to the Irish derby where takes off!

Fastaway was game kept on going which I liked

But I was very happy with trend he was out going into the second bend he's ****ing fly round the out side if he trap or better that got a bit ep which I don't he go far!

Socks Rocks is a NR in heat 2.

I'm struggling to find any bets in the heats tonight at the prices quoted. Fastaway King looks fairly priced in heat 1 and perhaps Star Addition is too big @ 33s, he ran well behind Razldazl Will last week. I can't back any of them in heat 2, think Kingo will win but he can win at 6/4 biggest. Heat 3 the same, George and Bullet on the short side for me, Ardkill Star is a fair price. Heat 4 i suppose Pool Hawk could be the value again but i'm not entirely happy with his draw inside of Big Momma Pumpin who can go up well and went bang left last week.
Report woodmanchester April 28, 2012 9:50 AM BST
Little change antepost betting after first round, said prices were stingy. Still, think my play was right. Said Kingo could do well at the start of the thread but thought unlikely to beat George in a clean race over 600yds, whereas it was doubtful George could get to grips with Skies, if the latter came away, so it was a play Skies and saver George, with slight doubts creeping in about Rockchase Bullet and with Razl Will stamina taken on trust. Transpires Will's very smart when leading but may not get all his own way later in the competition, like last time.

Have a great evening's racing lads, cracking card. Hope they show Wimbledon for you in Dublin too! Happy

From Shelbourne gate turn right and walk down the road to Ringsend, over the bridge past the Ladcrokes and again turn right and the Powers id up there.

Report woodmanchester April 28, 2012 5:56 PM BST
PF says he's struggling to find much value, which says to me it could easily be a feast for favourite backers, which is always a delight on a top-quality card.

Therefore, done a speculative five-fold Vic, Mike, Cain, George and Skies at accumulative odds of 25/1 with Spoilsports.

Think Razl Will and Kingo could be given a race by Seattle and Willyjoe respectively, so left them on the sidelines.

I fancy a whole host of favourites at Wimbledon too and if there are a plethora (is that spelt correctly) of short ones going in both sides of the pond tonight, it could be extremely lucrative Excited

Happy enough to get my 2 A/P bets through but wasn't impressed with Kingo at all, he'd want to step up considerably on that if he's to make the final. Pool Hawk on the other hand i was delighted with, i wasn't happy with the draw and as i thought he got his ground taken and had to check wide run up around them but showed good gears up. He'd want to turn the last a bit better though Laugh.

Slick Seattle was never going to be easy to catch once leading, but Razl Will showed he doesnt have to lead to produce a big run, a shade unlucky.

Monleek Force always led but Dynamic Trend looked unlucky. Kingo seemed to lack a yard of early to me.

Cant really see Rockchase Bullet, led, clear, but still not on the mark, hoisting the trophy now. Smart though Bullet is, think he needs to stay over slightly shorter trips. George not getting runs in races. Crossfield Star big shock.

Glad i plumped for Tibetan Skies ante-post. Trailing after a sluggish break, he showed mental pace, didnt have things his own way but looks set to produce flying times when exiting better

Fastaway King 6/1
Kingo 6/1
Dynamic Trend 12/1
Monleek Force 4/1

Lemon Velvet 12/1
Rockchase Bullet 5/1
Razldazl Will 10/11
Slick Seattle 3/1
Pool Hawk 5/1
Crossfield Star 20/1

Price are from Spoilsports. Why on earth is Razldazl George and Tibetan Skies so short? George is obviously been priced up on what he has done in the past and not the form he has priduced the last 2 weeks. As for Tibetan Skies i'm shocked he is so short, he is not a 6/3 shot in this race. I think Kingo is a decent price at 6/1 and Monleek Force is the right price at 4/1.

However Dynamic Trend looks absolutely massive to me at 12/1, he may have a tough draw here but the price looks huge to me. I think he is worth a few quid at that price.

Tibetan skies will possibly be the slowest dog to the bend. I can't possibly see him moving through this field of strong stayers, without major luck.
Dynamic Trend has the 2nd fastest sectional in this field, has the 2nd quickest back straight pace, behind Tibetian skies, and the 2nd fastest time in the race, which is a full 20 spots quicker then Tibetian skies.
Based on these facts, Tibetian should be double the price, and Dynamic half the price.

The only worry with Dynamic Trend is can she clear Kingo as he got up her inside last week at the bend. Also Monleek Force edged in a bit on the run up and could be a worry but sure even at that she was never a 12s shot. She is still massive at 10s. The 3 inside runners are all too short in my opinion.

I wouldn't totally rule out Rockchase Bullet in the 2nd semi final although he doesn't interest me even at 5/1. He has a nice draw here looking guaranteed to lead up Lemon Velvet and inside Razldazl Will who edges off run up. Slick Seattle is the wrong side of Will and i don't think he will clear him and can't see him back running him. I'm not surprised at Will's price, i think you will get slight odds against somewhere but i had him a strong fav too. On the oitside i don't see Crossfield Star leading up Pool Hawk unless he misses it so struggle to see him get a run. However 20s was big.

For me woodman Tibetan Skies just gives himself too much ground to claw back, always at the back, and its unreal how the comments on the race on IGB say "fast away"Laugh he was dead last goin up for gods sake.Hard to see him win and I'd take out my stake from that 11/2 bet.Its pretty much wide open, and no reason why Crossfield cant win again.
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y May 7, 2012 8:41 AM BST
The top 2 didn't do each other any favours on the run up on Saturday night and to be honest i can see the same happening again. George edged off ever so slightly while Tibetan wanted to be on the rails and they came together. They'd be better off drawn the opposite way around in my opinion. Again i think both of them are too short.

Razldazl Will didn't break as well last time and to be honest i find it hard to see him leading Rockchase Bullet inside him unless he doesn't come away and Will gets a flier. Added to that he will have Kingo going up well on his other side too. Kingo will win if going around in front in my opinion but can he lead again? He looks a fair price at 5/1. I made Crossfield Star my fav although i didn't have much between them all and he looks a fair price at 4/1. He was brilliant on Saturday night but there must be a worry if he can get to the lead early this time. If he does lead around it's hard to see how anything will back run him doing clocks in the 32.30s.

That leaves Rockchase Bullet who i thought ran awful in the 1st 2 rounds. However i felt he ran a lot better in his semi final and at 10/1 he could be big value. He really stuck to it well when led up in his semi final and i think he has a good chance to lead around in the final and if he does he could win. He hasn't really trapped as well as he can in the competition but he should lead up the inside 2 and off a level break i'd expect him to lead up Will and Kingo too especially been drawn inside them. Will goes up mid to wide so Bullet should have plenty of room run up. He will have to improve again from his semi final run but i got the impression he is going the right way now and i'd expect him to go quicker again and if leading can see him going in the 32.40s which will take a massive run to come from behind that.

I'd rather Kingo just smashes out and turns the corner in front but i'll play Rockchase Bullet at the price too.
Report woodmanchester May 7, 2012 4:24 PM BST
My first instinct was Kingo at the start of the competition, before i knew Tibetan and George were going for it. Razl Will should also be thereabouts with a run, Bullet would benefit from trouble behind and Jet keeps surprising, wide open. I wouldnt be surprised to see a blanket finish really

I just cant make up my mind about the race, obviously i like Kingo or Crossfield to win but i can see problems at the 1st bend which will set it up for one of the inside dogs.. i not going to pick a winner but i will pick 2 who i think wont win, Raz will and Rockchase Bullet... like a good Coward  i will leave it at that.Scared

I'm on Crossfield outright at 65's here and did an each-way double on Crossfield Star @ 16's and Monleek Force @ 9/2 :(
Wide open final but hopefully Crossfield hits the lids again like he did last week :)
Report Distant View May 7, 2012 11:36 PM BST
Crossfied was not available at 65s on here so you have done spectacularly well.

Thanks for the advice Jay but got a good saver in George, so gonna let it ride. Wasnt a big bet anyway, most of current kitty for betting going on the Derby

I was just looking at the heats and the runs of Crossfield star and his improvement since finishing 4th in the 1st round to running within .16 of the Late late show track record is unbeliveable .... if he breaks he will take some stopping.Happy

Can't have him. I think he is too short. 50/1 before his semi-final and 4/1 now? He won a poor enough semi where Will didn't come away, i think he will find it much harder with the line up in the final and can't see him leading round.
Report frank60 May 10, 2012 11:16 AM BST
Hope your wrong D.F.[i backed him at 50/1 e/w]  BUT your right about finding it harder ..bullet and kingo could get to the first bend before him ..i cant see him winning if this happens.Plain

Consolation Final

Fastaway King @ 5/1

The best drawn greyhound of the night. Royal Patrol will move off from 2, Tyrur Willyjoe is wide run up so will move off from 3, Pool Hawk also wide run up will move off from 4. It does not leave much margain for error for Monleek Force early and on the run up. Added to that all 3 dogs inside him can go up well to the bend and he is not certain to go around and at 6/4 doesn't look value to me. Fastaway King on the other hand has a brilliant draw. He's not the fastest up but will have the whole inside to himself and can trun handier than usual and if Monleek Force does not turn in front i can see him picking up the others. I think he is too big a price on the draw alone.

"Think Kingo could win this if going for it?" Always fatal to change your mind. Think it was 16/1 at the start too. Thought Tibetan a shade unlucky. On prior trial form, i wouldnt have been expecting him to get that far behind and finding trouble coming through. No surprise really, my recent ante-post record has been very unlucky, even saver George couldnt pop up. Hoping to have better luck in the English Derby

Tibetan Skies unlucky??? Seriously Woody not sure what ypu where watching, Kingo didn't come away, Razldazl Will took his ground run up and Kingo was just totally different class last night, it was an exceptional run

Agree 100% P.F....I had a nice e/w bet on Kingo 16/1 at the start,... the fans in greyhound land where well looked after last night with the Skys brilliant Coverage of the english derby and RTE,s nice piece on the early days of Greyhound racing ..pity they showed a front view of the break off in the Betfair 600 [hard to know who led] ... All in all the cream came to the top at H/Qs and across the water [exceeped for MIKE Sad] ..I look forward to a great nice racing on tuesday for the q/finals.Happy

PF, think Tibetan unlucky from the respect not at his best in this competition. Showed in the past capable of pinging and leading good 550yds dogs. Okay, maybe a shade more disappointing than unlucky
Report CastnoStones May 15, 2012 2:36 PM BST
at the risk of sounding like an after timer, Kingo was underestimated throughout the competition. Last years winner, 2nd only to Definate Opinion in Cesarewitch and back as good as ever this season. 6/1 for the final after winning his semi? Unbelievable!! I was too busy with work to follow this comp closely, especially Saturday, so who's to say if I would have taken 6/1, or 7/1 in his semi for that matter??
