Probably had similar thoughts to the numpty who paid £30m for Juan Sebastion Veron, and then sold him for £15m
Fair enough comment, but JSV was a real football player. AC on the other hand, is a carthorse.

Yep that could, be true. But difference being that Man U are a Big Club and can take the hit....... because of them being in the Champions League. Liverpool might have to raise the season tickets prices or on the shirt tops.

Whereas Man United never raise ticket prices or bring out new kits
I appreciate this won't affect you but aren't united ST holders forced to buy tickets for cup games regardless of whether they even want to attend?

IMO they only signed him because Kenny "I will sign anyone who's crap and English" Dalglish was in charge and the new owners were too scared to say no.

spending 35m on him was a mystery and after 2 and a half years how anyone can now spend 17m on him is an even greater mystery.........i have no idea what west ham are doing...........hes worth about 3m. thats the reality.

arsenal's record signing's still arshavin at 15M, yet they're always top 4.
players liverpool have spent more than that on recently:
andy carroll (35M) jordan henderson (16-20M) stewart downing (20M?) glenn johnson (10-17M, depending how you work it out) alberto aquilani (17M)
...and they're nowhere near.
man utd might buy their share of overpriced stinkers, but at least they win the league anyway. someone needs to have a serious look at wtf's going on with liverpool's transfer policy.

true, but arsenal have sold players on for big money too. it's the expensive liverpool flops that have opened up the gap between them and the top teams.
the henderson and carroll deals in particular need close scrutiny, imo.

but it's the costly flops that have left liverpool unable to compete with a team buying cheaper players than them.
well, yes. all clubs get mark ups on some players. especially wenger's arsenal:RVP: -----------2.75M // 24MFabregas:-------? // 27MSong:-----------1M // 15MNasri:----------12M // 25MK Toure:--------0.15M // 16MAdebayor:-------3M // 25Mbut it's the co
Never given a chance by the charlatan manager at Liverpool, and now gonna' become the latest battering ram for the odious luddite Allardyce. Shame, he's better than chasing James Collins hoofs up field and watching Matt Jarvis's crosses sail twenty feet over his head. Should be somewhere like Everton.

on his day hes a handfull for most defences, is fearless. if it was shearer they,d be purring about him. its whether he stays injury free is the problem

me too, and I want them to play the right way like they have for 45 years I've supported them
sacrifice everything just to say up and we will end up like stoke

I can beat 45 years comfortably and remember only too well the teams of Greenwood and Lyall. Those teams seriously underachieved and for most of that time we were known as a soft touch. Time and again we would score a great goal and then give away a stupid one. I also have no time for Stoke and do not agree that we play like them. Bobby Moore wanted away because Greenwood would not sign the sort of players that Moore felt was needed. One such example was the signing of Cushley when Moore wanted us to sign Setters. Finally, I would ask why it is, that all teams play the long ball game in the last 10 minutes when they are losing?

Can't believe Hammers are griping, having suffered a few seasons of Carlton Cole, you'd think they'ed be happy to have a striker who might score more often than a 90 year old monk.

Problem for W Ham sparrow and any team playing a battering ram is that by definition your game has to be direct it negates developing your game, wouldn,t have him in a thsnd yrs, best of luck anyway as W Ham always tried to play football.

----------
that's if the add ons are actually triggered and you don't knock off the 1M they're paying him to fck off. and you count the 1.5M loan fee as 2M. and you ignore that liverpool didn't actually have use of him while he was on loan.
but apart from that, yes.
