Never thought 12 mths ago I'd be saying this to Kenny Dalglish of all people but this has now become a joke Kenny & time you were gone.

After a good start last year, yr leadership has stunk this season & time you were gone.  The handling of the Suarez fiasco was a joke, your buying of players is a joke, team selections a joke & the teams performances are a joke

£100 million later & we're worse off than when you came
One of the clubs all time best players but enough is enough.

It was a gamble employing you & you've totally phkd up so for goodness sake go!!!!!

WTF talk abou getting stabbed in the back

Woahh!!!!  Kenny was allegedly helping Hodgson, was he, not imo he was looking after number one & putting himself forward in my eyes for the job.  With all the shouts of Kenny for manager he should have stepped aside & given Hodgson the chance.

Now it's turn his name's on the block.  Trouble is he's also spewed a £100 mill down the b*g, he's a much worse manager than Hodgson or Benitez.  He was when in his last job at Newcastle a decade ago.

Should we be loyal to someone whose clearly garbage, no, we need an experienced manager (without the history lesson)

Dalglish won the league with Liverpool and Blackburn and finished second at Newcastle. To say he is a worse manager than Hodgson and Benitez is clearly bolox. Hodgson is a good coach for a medium sized club, Benitez is the master of two leg cup ties, while Dalglish has actually won a Premier League title. It could be that Kenny's time has gone, that he's taken too long out of the game, but he's proven he's a good manager.
Report TheHonestScouser January 22, 2012 12:35 AM GMT
paul appreciate you teaking the time to post but what youve said is clearly bllx.

He originally took over a great Liverpool side but allowed it to age without replacing the players.  It started to unfold & the next manager had to rebuild.

Dalglish after being given a fortune by jack walker, way in excess of others, nearly took blackburn down the next season & bailed out before he was sacked if I remember.  He was terrible at Newcastle & was sacked as they were struggling after him taking over a great team. Noone gets sacked for doing a good job

Dalglish wanted the Liverpool job before Hodgson & made it well known to the extent the next manager didnt stand a chance.  Fans constantly singing his name meant Hodgson was a dead man walking as he took over the job

Please dont talk about loyalty.  Hodgson showed him loyalty by giving him a job within the club.  If he had any loyalty himself he wouldnt have took over fron the man that brought him back.

THS, Kenny obviously benefited from Fagan's team to win the Double but he still deserves much credit (much like Benitez winning the CL with Houllier's players). Kenny then rebuilt that team by bringing in Barnes, Beardsley, Alridge and Houghton. They went 37 games unbeaten and won trophy after trophy. Six whole years after becoming Liverpool manager, he left with them top of the league, hardly a team in decline.

To put the Blackburn title win down to money is ridiculous. It was an amazing achievement. His team were hardly world-beaters. Flowers, Gale, Kenna, Sherwood, Hendry, Le Saux, Ripley, Gallacher, Shearer and Newell.

It would be nice to win the CC, no doubt, but when you have spent £100 million you expect to be in the top 4.

The trouble is there are five better squads than ours.

The loss of Lucas and Suarez is huge for us, but there is no excuse for performances like that one last night.

Rafa spent years getting Liverpool set up the way he wanted it and when he left the Liverpool backroom staff was decimated.

Running a Premiership side is not a one man job. Woy & Kenny have had to scramble around for backroom staff - fitness coaches, defense coaches, attacking coaches, goalkeeping coaches, scouts, analysts, sports psychologists etc etc etc

Remember how long it took Fergie to turn United around.

Kenny's done a worse job imo as he's also done in £100million.  If any people that work on here are bad at their job they get sacked.  Why should KD be any different...

He's clearly out of touch with the modern game & some of the events this season have caused massive embarassment to the club on & off the pitch, much of which is down to KD imo

Do you give a team that finished 6th £100 million & then say same again please.  No, the least I would expect is top 4 & yet we'll do well to finish as high as last year

Well said THS - I totally agree, and it does need saying. Kenny has been bullet-proof on the strength of his illustrious playing career but even in his first stint I felt he left us with an aging team and a massive rebuilding job from which we have never fully recovered to this day. But to voice that opinion among Liverpool supporters was regarded as treasonous. We have since found out how traumatised Kenny was at that time by Hillsborough and for that he has my utmost sympathy but to bring him in last year as long-term boss was a desperate measure which has totally backfired and I personally think he just can't cope in the modern game. The second-half defensive strategy against Man City in the CC first leg was a shambles and we were lucky to come away with the win. We had outplayed them in the first half and were sitting comfortably on 1-0, if we try to defend like that again on Wednesday I can see City having a field day. The transfer strategy has been a disaster and now we're going back to the old Rafa tactic of two holding midfielders and a lone striker  when we should be attacking teams who are there for the taking. Obvious example of this was the Utd game when we could have had a win with a little less caution. I could go on and on about the home draws and Bolton game yesterday and the handling of the Suarez affair etc but its already well documented and it all just makes me despair to be honest.
Anyway well said mate - YNWA

RE vidou, "the old rafa tactic" got us consistently into the top 4, so it obviously worked!

If any of you guys are regular viewers of page 459 on sky text you may remember an e-mail sent in during the summer which read:

"The Liverpool board obviously thrusts Dalglish if they give him £80m+ to spend on average players like Downing, Henderson & Carroll when we could have signed Mata, Cavani & Thaigo, quality players for cheaper. We will be lucky to get top 8 at this rate, very dissappointed!"

and then on 06/11/11 I e-mailed this in:

"During the summer I wrote into these pages saying that Liverpool blew over £100m on average players (bar Suarez), and should have went for Thaigo, Mata & Cavani if we wanted to finish in the top 4. Sadly it looks as if I am going to proven right, we are just not good enough."

Phil I take your point but don't forget we made the top four at a time when there was a top four - Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and us - you've also now got City and Spurs in the mix so lets not kid ourselves, we should have been title contenders in those days and we only came close one year when negative tactics cost us the title and we should be title contenders now after have spent just short of 100m in the space of a few months. We've been linked with various superstars over the past few years (Mata, Silva, Villa to name a few)but we've squandered so much on average players. People are now talking of Cavani costing 35m - look what we got for 35m and weep. Houllier, Benitez, Hodgson and Dalglish all responsible for absolute shocking waste. Kenny came in and galvanised a team that had totally lost its way, that was the time when we should have looked at the managerial situation and gone out and brought in the best available (Hiddinck??) and let Kenny carry on in an ambassadorial or consultant's role, now more long-term damage is being done and Kenny could end up losing respect of fans, don't think anyone at LFC wants that to happen.

god i was as down as any1 after yesterday and stoke but lets be honest. did u eva see the team under woy? yesterday was bad but not as bad as blackpool at home blackburn away everton away and i could go on and on. lets have faith apart from carrol his buys aint been that bad. downing is lacking as he plays on the right not the left, enrique is the best 7 mill u will spend eva. adam started too well and is missing lucas and suarez apart from 1 incident is gonna be a hero number 7. henderson started poor and played well apart from last 2 games. look at the fixtures and see where we are after the 2 cup games and next 5 league games. i guarantee it will look a lot more rosy then, chelsea are poor and will come 5th then arsenal and newcastle. we will get 4th and hopefully win the carling and fa cups. very poor thread and if ur an honest scouser you shuld speak honestly and not in anger after 2 bad results

Bellamy was a great sigming .If we could only get a few others with his desire.

I cringe when I watch Kuyt and Carroll - professionals who cannot control a ball, neither of them could trap  a bag of cement, how many times does Kuyt find a team-mate with a pass, ain't checked optifax but his pass-completion is dire, Carroll is worse I don't think he's ever been able to hold onto the ball long enough to qualify for for optifax. They make Heskey look like Messi ffs (don't mean that).

I fundamentally disagree THS. I think Liverpool should hand him an extended contract right now.
