it is a bit disgraceful that BF can't be bothered to take down obviously fraudulent matches when all the other bookies must have pulled the plug on this one a while back

ultimately match fixing for the purposes of gaining through gambling is illegal, no?
hence allowing it to go on when it is so obvious is not really healthy.....

will mean the away team can harmlessly have a couple of pot shots without endangering the result

just a thought guys... maybe I am misunderstanding how exactly they would profit from this fix but wouldn't fixing the draw, given what people are expecting from the earlier game, be much more profitable for them?

I don't think the greeks and cypriots bother to be subtle with their fixes
some countries you can't be sure
but the fixes i have seen in greece have always been very obvious and blatant

to anyone who hasn't been following odds movement during the game
it's not a match which "smells rotten"
it's 100% nailed on fix, home team was about evens to win at HT at 0-2 down while draw was 9s

betfair has nothing to do with whether its fixed....
...IF the players or officilas are invovlved it is THEIR responsiblity..NOT betfairs.
it is they who should be held accountable.

would agree that betfair has nothing to do with the original problem
HOWEVER it would be extremely easy as the betting exchange to flag games which are not honest. if i can tell from watching the odds movement that it's fixed, anyone can.
should really be voided similar to abandoned games when it is 100% clear from the odds that the game is not honest
(i did not bet on this; greek / cypriot match odds not for me thx)

I wouldn't have even bothered with this carp if I hadn't seen the thread, but what struck me the most is that there were no sudden change in the odds before the match has started, nothing till the goals. Nothing for almost entire first half. not so many people must have known...

although if they did that then i guess the national association or Uefa would be obliged to get involved...
although they should be watching this sort of stuff anyway as they are the governing bodies.

egner ,what's the point of Betfair signing all these MOU's with anyone who asks if they're just going to ignore any blatant fixing?
That's unless it's all sham and only to look good for any regulators when they go looking for a new license whilst pocketting any comms along the way

have seen many such games, im sure they just get ignored by all the governing bodies. sad that the betfair forum has more interest in what's going on than the national associations.
thing is, if £500,000 is bet on match odds and BF takes 5% then that's £25,000. OK, its a bit of money, but not a huge amount. honestly, is it worth allowing this place to be a major site for profiting from match fixing for that amount?

..i agree that it would be in betfairs and the games long term interest to void the match and take the moral high ground...
im simply wondering what the arrangement is......
are betfair the watchdogs and pass the info on to the Cypriots/Uefa...
..or do the cypriots/uefa have to come to betfair and only then betfair can take action.
