now we've missed out aimar, and with harper saying in the press we're at short on numbers since 4 players have left and we were already short of numbers,
i wonder who we're going to fetch in now

got that bassong on trial at the minute, and have apparently been offered torsten frings, but turned down the chance. also meant to have had a bid rejected for steven warnock.

without paying the big wages and with no european football to offer, it seems players are a bit reluctant to sign

newcastle fans are same, pretty much , as any other sports fans

they want their team to be as good as they can be, to challenge for
honours at the level they compete at, and for the players to be somewhat
accessible to fans.

previous owners in the last 50 years ( and perhaps beyond that)have run the
club for the advantage of themselves, this coincided with a short era under
john hall where the club were competitive.

some fans expect a return to john hall days but most do not, me included.

fcb has been no worse at many things than those other owners but his hapless
appointments of key managers at the club has resulted to turmoil at the club and two
relegations in quick time, that has resulted in us being unable to compete
anywhere near top of the table. we did happen across a good season due
to some excellent buys by jimmy carrs dad. however the haste to resell some
of these players coupled with inability to sell the poorer buys soon put an end to that.

the pool of cheap players dried up too, and key managers failed to pay increased prices
for new targets ...aubanmagang £7 million, bony £7.5 million, and the thread has
detailed the sorry tale of numerous failures to land players that could have improved
the team

somehow rafa was signed up short term, and the fans persuaded him to stay , the fans
kind of bought into the journey with him, so boycoutting the club at this moment would
be revoking the bond they have with him , ...and with lascelles and his team, who work
ever so hard, to entertainus, the fans

rafa could not have stayed had fcb not financed his wages ....

so he isnt hopeless, more hapless,  but his learning rate is such that he isnt getting it.

what of new owners?

maybe they will do as john hall did and boost squad short term to increase value of ckub,
if they aint supporters why would they come in and spend £500 million to get us to 7th place?

who knows !!!

now isnt the time to protest, now is the time to give our fullest support to the team,

dont mind it being a pelanty, but, it would be nice if they got given for all teams for that.

Report donny osmond January 20, 2018 11:23 PM GMT
looked like he went down once he realised ball was gone , but the foul was there

would have been worse defending had he not been trying to cover the run...

i can see bad defending in all three goals but the amount of attacking they do and clever balls they
play they are going to make chances then you can blame whoever got caught out...

lots of bad defending is not shown when pelanty is not given, or striker fails to score

most of our bad defending gets punished, and opponents bad defending is not capitalised upon...

...thats why we is scrapping to stop up
Report Trackman January 21, 2018 12:09 AM GMT
basically you get what you pay for.

our defenders are not in the same league as their attackers.

Report Trackman January 21, 2018 12:11 AM GMT
we are a championship squad in the premier league, everywon apart from morpteh mackem nose that.
Report donny osmond January 21, 2018 12:32 AM GMT
not quite,

we are way below the top teams , but they are some of the best teams ever in this country.

then there are some very good teams like leicester

then you have 10 or so not so good teams, perhaps a level below the top teams but a level above the championship

not that that helps, three will go down,...but, .... if there were 20 teams as good as man city then 3 would still go down.

lots of teams are good at stopping other teams too, and players are super fit, at least aerobically if not so physically durable

dunno where expectations should be, i think we are good enough to stop up, and a couple of upgrades should help, but
gap to leicester is huge, never mind the giant leap to those above leicester.

then why would investors take a risk buying a team like us, ..?

could have bought us after a relegation for a fraction of whats being talked
about, or buy a forest, or sheffield club....

Report donny osmond January 21, 2018 12:48 AM GMT
how many of the bottom 10 teams players are sought by others ?

not many of ours , not many others, but all seem to be recruiting from the same pool

and of course if we want to step up then we need to find more merinos

of course all teams in our boat can offer same wages now so we have no leverage anyway

would you be happy if rafa raided brighton, west ham and huddersfield?

i reckon we are in same boat as plenty of others.

the days of carr pulling out a corker for next to nowt are gone and others are looking
and being quoted silly money, that we aint got.

i think we need to get used to being not very good until some of these youngsters improve
and we slowly evole and improve the squad

rafa is a decent bloke to have in charge, but he will be on a few lists, and i doubt fcb
will move heaven and earth to keep him.....then we can double panic
