SA at home could be tough for england, I can see them improving a lot over the next year and there are some exiting prospects in the wings. Some decent wicket taking and agressive seamers are putting their hands up for the 3rd seamer role and Tahir a great addition.
India away will be very tough, always is

Who are the seamers Rolo? I knew there was one guy with Gauteng or Free State(know they are different names now) who has pace and had a really good season over the winter. Can they bat too because from 6 down you are a weak side atm.
Tahir is a great addition but by no means the most important recent addition for your boys.
Gary Kirsten. You finally have a top class coach for the first time since Bob Woolmer. You only need to look at what Andy Flower has done to England to know how important Kirsten could be.
As i have said on a few other threads there are no excuses for SA now. They have the coach, the wicket taking spinner and the core of their team is around their peak. It is time for them to stand up and start dominating series.

The great Australia team never went more than 4 years unbeaten - 2001 to 2005.
Incidentally if this test match championship goes ahead as planned we could well have 9 tests summer 2013. We may well be half knackered before we even start the ashes. Don't know what the aussie workload is in the run up though, and tests at home aren't so tiring as tests away.

Nuggs I think the next seamer in line could be Ethan O Reilly or maybe Vernon Philander, they have both excellent recently, especially O Reilly who bowls at very decent pace and swings it a lot. There is also Dane Paterson whom I think is a great prospect and have been bowling very well in the few games he have played.
The most exiting prospect in South African cricket at the moment is probably Obus Pienaar. A fast bowler who takes a lot of wickets but have recently been making headlines for his batting. He is very destructive in the middle order, sehwag style. He is from the Free State.

It was Peinaar i remember reading about. O Reilly and Philander have looked solid but unspectacular from what i have seen. Could be good one day option but not sure about their test prospects. Parnell bowled pretty and at high pace last night on sky which is encouraging for your boys.
In the UK we can now watch IPL, Big Bash, Caribbean T20 shame we dont get pics to see some of the young Saffer talents (and i am not talking about the girls in the crowd)

12-1 was great value, bushy. Wish I'd seen this thread earlier. I expect Eng to go unbeaten in test series for the next few years. There were some terrific value bets on Eng at end of last year - among the 2011 Specials many of which I partook of. 6-1 not to lose a test match in 2011 9-4 to win both series vs Sri Lanka and India 16-1 for an Eng player to take a hat-trick 20-1 for Eng to take a wicket with 1st ball of innings 7-1 to be Team of the Year on SPOTY night 25-1 to beat India 4-0
… like finding money in the street

Jonny- the funny thing with that 6/1 for us not losing a test in 2011- they put the market up in dec 2010 with Sydney still to play and didnt change the price after we won the 5th test . (aus were still 3.2 pokes or something.. )
I got some 5/2 on the SL/India double with BS.
20/1 for a wkt 1st ball! wow! thats well worth a bet. that happens probably 1 in 2 or 3 english summers doesnt it?

We are more vulnerable to SA with it being a 3 Test series. Over 4 or 5 Tests you would fancy our class and our depth to really shine through. In a 3 match series all it takes is a really good toss and a Steyn spell to go against you and we could be behind.
Pakistan with Ajmal (who has really improved in the longer form and is 2nd to Swann) Rehman and the wonderful Hafeez might present the biggest danger.

Lix - I've backed that 1st ball wicket the last 2 years and it has come in. You have to back both - Eng to take a wicket/Eng to lose a wicket. In 2010, if you recall, Strauss was out 1st ball, caught by Amla, I think, vs SA. It was an earlier pay-out as placed bet on about Dec 31, and received winnings within a couple of weeks The other one I didn't list - Eng to go to no1 in test cricket. That was 9-2 at start of year, and I got 5-2 on that. I take Nugg's point about the potential banana skin of 3-test series. I still think Eng's superiority will prevail. I also agree Pakistan are a side on the up.

I dont think people should carried away on going unbeaten that long.
All it takes a few injuries to a few bowlers like Anderson\Tremlett or Swann and then there maybe trouble.

You can gloat all you like asian but it's sad to do so. Value is value and I agreed with bushy it looked a value price. Not all value bets come in but that is beside the point. If you can spot value you will win in the long run.
