The actual policy of having 10,000 more new cops was good, but policies have to be efficiently presented by competent politicians. And Diane Crash Abbot was badly fumbling over her figures £300,000 or £80million......Just listened again, was she drunk or something, that was stunningly unprofessional.

Not false news at all.She made a right cows arse of that interview and for Corbyn to come out and say it wasn't embarrassing tells you all you need to know about the man.Comparing Johnson to Abbot is like comparing Barcelona to Leyton Orient.Labour are a busted flush and Abbots abysmal performance this morning just underlined that fact.
Report anxious May 2, 2017 5:01 PM BST
Jed do you really believe most of them are not briefed by advisors and the civil service when in power , yes I agree it was a poor interview and I don't think she is of high calibre anyway , but the fact is that the real policies are never debated and what we are left with is tit-for tat ya boo confrontations all the time , and then people moan about the standard of most of them , that's why the public disengage and would rather watch Emmerdale.
Report Jack Hacksaw May 2, 2017 5:43 PM BST

Yes she is a disaster in waiting and yes the interview with Ferrari was abject beyond words, however yesterday, Theresa May's 'peeps' locked a load of journalists in a room to prevent them asking her questions about her parties policies. Richard Graham (Tory MP) claimed some permanent degenerative diseases 'got better' - yet was unable to give a single example of this miracle. There's also this allegation about HSBC giving dirty money to the Conservative Party coffers but, oh just go back to having your news agenda set for you....I'm sure it'll all work out just fine.

As for the truth

Fully over-headed cost of a Met Police officer is £75,883 pa. Mersey Police is £68,046 pa.

The state of the Labour Party is lamentable when people like Abbot are positions of authority. I haven't even heard the interview yet but heard her defending it or trying to.

There is no money for what we need...decent houses, decent jobs, a decent Health Service, decent schools. Where is Labour going to find the money?

Here are some other questions...why do we need Trust's, why can't we Double Irish our wages? why doesn't the Tax Man come to lunch with us to discuss how much we decide to pay in tax? How can someone's wife live in Monaco and yet receive all his wages tax free? Why didn't the Government use Tax Payers money to bail us out of credit card debt? Why did the Government bail out rich people who lent money to corrupt Governments like Greece?

The fact is the real mug is not Dianne Abbott. It is us. We are here to serve the rich and powerful and do nothing and let people like Dianne Abbott represent us. This really has to stop if we are to be nothing more than serfs.

There is no money for us and our needs because the rich are taking more and more of it.

It's a collusion in deception with the Electorate though.

Firstly, there a re huge swathes who vote the same way as they've always done and therefore can be taken for granted. I've always been in constituencies that have a solid majority for one party so my democratic effect has been negligible in my lifetime. Point being, you can take these people for a ride and they just stare out the windows (or lick them, more likely).

Then you've got this charade that we can have decent public services, armed forces, no potholes in the roads without having to pay for them. Any candidate approaching this issue with honesty wouldn't get a sniff of power.

We can't even speak honestly. We are allowed to say 'Asian Rape Gangs' (which they are not) but not 'Muslim Rape Gangs' (which they are). Colonise language, tell people which words they can and cannot use, irrespective of context (Folks I give you the phrase 'The 'N' word' used extensively by grown adults) and you end up dancing on a pinhead discussing syntax rather than homelessness and literacy levels.

Nick Clegg's political career ended when the Liberal's had to support the introduction of tuition fees in a coalition government where they were the minor party. Instead of apologising he should have fronted it up and gone 'Honestly? This is real-politik. If you wanted free tuition you should have voted for us in larger numbers. You didn't and so I'm having to retain some degree of honour by taking collective responsibility for this policy.' Honesty - which I would have respected but he'd rather apologise.

I think Abbots plan was not to have 10,000 from day one, but 10,000 at year four.  e.g. 1,000 extra year one, 2,000 extra year two, 3,000 extra year three, 4,000 extra year four.

That way they can say 10,000 extra police and say a relatively small budget( whatever it was she finally come up with!)   Of course, the ongoing cost would be great after year four.

I am not sure she has the brain to remember that though.
