obama's surrender in iraq signed the death warrants of tens of thousands and he knew it. these airstrikes won't bring back the dead or rebuild the cultures wiped out after 5000 years of existence. it's arguable at this late stage whether they will have any meaningful effect at all given that obama has "ended war in iraq". Seems the best he can hope for is a bloody civil war with an uncertain outcome, and at someone else's suffering.
