Aarno doubles up again when his AJ holds against Michael Malle's A9 which now makes Aarnu a big stack along with Arttu and Phillip!

hi, can u tell me who has won the betfair side event today.

Side event is still heads up I will give you the result as soon as its known.

Michael Malle falls in 5th and collects £2.4k when his 44 fails to turn over Phillips 66 although the two overpairs and a 2 on the board meant he actually won with 6 high.

Hugo shoves on Phillip for 108k with QJ and Phillip calls with K5 and Hugo hits a Jack and despite Phillip having a flush draw the river is a blank and Hugo's patient playing of his shortstack pays off and he marches on to 240k.

Artuu raises to 32k, Phillip 3 bets to 80k and Aarnu announces all in and a pained Phillip reluctantly mucks.

Hugo's KQ crushes Phillips 77 when a King falls on the flop and leaves poor Phillip with rubble of about 20k.

Next hand its Phillips BB and he is all in with 68 and Arttu takes him down with J3 and Phillip finishes 4th for £3.1k

Just wanted to post to thank all of you for your support. I've never met Dave before but he was brilliant. Kept popping over for updates and giving lots of encouragement. The pic is dodgy though Dave. I look a bit grim in it!

It was great to meet all of you who were there. I'm sure you all realised that I was very, very excited to cash. It's my first proper live cash. Don't think I'll forget it in a hurry :o)

Hugo pushes into Aarno on a 9TKQ board and after asking for a count Aarno calls with JT and Hugo turns over AJ and the river blanks and Hugo doubles up again and now has around 900k.

WP Dave. Great reading through this thread. You're a natural at this , but need to work on how you reflect on klup's stylish manoeuvres.  Obviously, when they go wrong, I'm just excruciatingly unlucky.

Stuck on train ATM with a 45 minute hold up due to engineering works. Looks like I will get home just in time to get a few hours sleep before coming back in to London tomorrow morning. Time to pull a sicky??

Debs, was lovely to meet you, and your free massage voucher was put to very good use. Fantastic to meet others like trixas, paul, cgull and ovalman as well and nice to run into raj again. 

Arguably the best Betfair live event this far (from a poker community persective) - really good atmosphere and spirit.

The final 2 are just dancing round each other for the last 40 minutes in fact its like watching Audley Harrison fight Audley Harrison!

Absolutely great weekend.  Many thanks to all the Betfair guys for organising such a great tourney.  The staff and management at the Fox Poker Club were superb.  Great tea btw.

Well done to everyone that cashed and especially to my fellow final tablists, it was a pleasure to share poker tables with you, even if I might have been looking miserable for great chunks of it ;)

Good work with the updates Dave, Betfair should really book you up for the next one.  I only mention it, because you're not the sort of person to wh0re yourself around for these positions. ;)

Just over £2k and a Tallinn live package

Didn't get to meet doobs or nick flick, apologies to both of you.  Unfortunately I was worse for wear on Saturday and not with it at all. Trains moving. Arrow home at. 0.20hrs. So 3.20hr journey for what is normally just 1hr 5 min trek.

Artuu with a 2 to 1 chip lead calls Hugo's shove and his 66 is beaten by KT when the board comes 2JJAA and now Hugo has a 2 to 1 chip lead.

Wow bit of a difference then, was gonna tell you to tell them to spilt and get yourself home. [;)]

I have tried the Jedi mind trick on both of them for the last hour but to no avail.

Hugo has a bigger lead than I thought with probably a 3 or 4 to 1 chip lead.

Sorry Johnnie the difference is £1700 and the Tallinn package.

If they go past midnight they will have to buy each other a rose.

Or their carriages will turn into pumpkins.

On a 9JK board they both end up all in and Arttu shows JJ and Hugo K7 so Arttu wins the hand and the never ending card game continues!

From what I saw of these two's play, I would have expected this to be over by now.

RESULT.............

Arttu calls Hugo's shove with AQ and Hugo shows K8 and an Ace on the flop seals Hugo's fate and Arttu Pitkangas from Finland is the Betfair London Live 2011 Champion.

Just through the door and what a brilliant weekend. Big Kudos to Klup, ILikeTrips, Kunotuba, SussexGirl, NickFlick, The Brann Bergen supporters and Helmuthian Folds. Sorry I didn't get to meet other forumites but there will be other occassions.

Quick rundown of my trip.

The flight I was to get was diverted to Belfast International, this added 3 hours onto my trip and I missed the first 45 minutes of the game. I won a few hands and was up to 13k before I run into the Chinese Girl (who bubbled on a bad beat above), she was short stacked and pushed TT which I called with AKs. Her TT held up and in a way I was glad - she was a good player and she brought a lot of smiles to the table.

This knocked me back to 8k. I couldn't really get moving again and was totally card dead. I had 4 aggressives to my left which in a way helped me but I dropped to 6k even though I won without a showdown KQo and K9o pushes.

My exit hand was TT v an AJo utg flat raise by the same Chinese Girl who I kept in the tournament. Unfortunately an A flopped and that was me.

I was pretty sober by Ovalman standards so I pub crawled back to Victoria but last orders was called at midnight and I had an early night

Sunday's turbo was just that. Decent starting stack and clock but the blind structure meant you had to build a stack quickly. Raising UTG with J5s is not a good move however especially with 3 callers and I spaffed a few chips trying to emulate the Klup.

I had 12BB's when I re-raised AQo utg. I had 6800 chips and 1 limper, I raised to 700, everyone folded to John Tabatabai who reraised to ?1500? I only had a quick think before pushing all in. John called me in an instant and turned over AA. I don't think with my stack it was a mistake but in hindsight the hand played through correctly. I'm not sure if John would have played it differently. John's a chatty guy and brought a bit of banter to the table, of course I'm disappointed but it gives me something to tell my poker buddies about.

I made a few mistakes over the weekend but overall I'm happy with my play.

I'd a great chat with ILikeTrips, Klup and Kunotuba. I'm a small fish in a big pond and a lot of respect goes to many I was chatting to. Sorry if my accent is a broad Belfast one!

I was well sozzled when I left the club but I had room for more. I done another pub crawl and then by magic my hotel mysteriously vanished. 15 pints does this to many hotels I visit but eventually I must have found it (and my phone under the bed.) Anyway I'm safe home and saving for the next event.

It was a pleasure, sorry for the long post!

I should also note, I think Doobs was on the table behind me but a big hug and thanks to Rachael the phone charging girl All the Betfair staff were great and I suppose the biggest thank you goes to Betfair. I've been to other sites' events and Betfair really does knock the socks off the lot of them.

Lost race vs somebody who had already spewed 5k chips in 2 levels, then pushed kings into aces with just shy of 3k chips. 

Then lost £500 at cash and went home (65/35 for a monster pot, then 3 suckouts.  I think I won one hand in 2 hours).

Top updating thrappers.  I would have hung round but a) I wouldn't have been great company in the circumstances and b) I was sure if I carried on much longer I'd walk under a bus or similar.

Will try to be more sociable at the next one.  Tallinn clashes with the GUKPT, so may wait for something warmer.

Must do Tallinn doobs. Much more social out there. Beer house is worth the trip on it's own.

Hi All

Fantastic weekend of poker all round, made a little sweeter by my 23rd place finish. Was good to get to know some of the regular players like JBong, Ovalman, Wonky, Klup and Kountoba amongst others.

It was the first major tournament I have played in so I was pleased with my cash finish, although not too pleased to exit with my AK busted by AJ :(

Had a fantastic weekend though, very impressed by the Club and Staff, hopefully we'll do it all again soon!

Where can we view the rest of the photos that were taken on Saturday? Be good if they were tagged also

P.S Big thanks to HelmuthianFolds for posting my chip stack updates for my friends at home to keep track of how I was doing, and for providing photo evidence whilst I still had some chips!
