canny start to the week for us, nice winner at 9/2 chavman

I’m going for an EW shot today, currently at 7/1,
WELL PLANTED – 4:25 Perth
Turned form upside down on penultimate run with a win in a 2m1½f novice hurdle and followed up with a decent effort back in handicap company over today’s C&D, finishing 1¼ lengths behind today’s fav., Jackhammer
I reckon should be thereabouts today in current form and with slight pull in the weights with the fav.

Looked very good for a while that oth. More points on the board. Well done. Jackhammer as you mentioned, won quite well in the end.

Broken Spear EW I think will be mine, course winner and always runs well on these types of tracks, defiantly back to a winning mark now as well so if it runs to its potential it can go close tomorrow.

Struggled to find owt this week so today has to be the day. If this 5.04 race at Newbury was over 2 furlongs further I'd be having a right go on this horse. Having said that, if they go a good pace, may still well be good enough. Goes very well fresh so first run in 217 days not an issue. SINJAARI ew. GL all.

Yours was a noner, wasn't it Sont? Go again, Sir. I see what you mean about the trip for Sinjaari. He does have a touch of class about him so he might get away it if they really push on up front. Like your one Swad. The jockey has only had one ride before but this horse goes well for such riders and Kevin Ryan wouldn't put him up if he didn't think he could do a job.  Plenty of money around for it Chav. I like one in that race too. Rolfe Rembrandt. Always thought he was a soft ground horse but he was a revelation on fast going LTO. I like 2 in the 2.45 Newbury - Mr Big Stuff who looks ahead of the handicapper and Wineglass Bay who I think will improve plenty for the step up in trip.

Yeah, if you find one at double figures Sont, then by all means go for it. I'm going to post one up at 10/1+ If the current leaders win this round, the comp is as good as over. Yours ran an excellent race over an inadequate trip HGS, UL with the noner ruining the place part.

Yourself and OTH have the wildcards this week so feel free to get a little creative with them.

As we need a few points to get near the leaders, I think it could be worth going for Sir Duke (EW) in the 1:30 Brighton (priced between 20 - 28 on oddschecker)

Has had 3 runs since changing yards, putting in a decent effort last time out in only his 2nd run on turf (2¼ lengths 3rd of 8 over 5½f, GF)
Down 2lbs for today’s run and stepping up in distance can hopefully see him at least make the first 3 at decent odds

GL OTH. He's ran some OK races and like you say the handicapper dropping him 2lbs and the step up in trip might just see him run into the places. The 1.40 at Nottingham is a very interesting race. There's a couple in the race who will leave last season's form behind today and go well at big prices.......

I only have 2 more selections running today, one is not worth putting up for this comp. at the short odds of 10/11 and I am still undecided about my other selection, Shaws Bridge – 5:33 Hexham (10/1), reverts to hurdling off a decent mark after some really poor efforts when sent chasing.
I’ll see what competition he is up against then decide whether to go for it or wait for later in the week (see how the opposition does!)

Tried to make it a stamina test on a horse who has suspect stamina at the trip? Strange ride! Nothing for me this evening. Will be looking at a couple from Kempton's evening card on Weds. Looks a very competitive card and the 2 I like have been priced up at 10s+

Gonna throw a speculative one in. Cherry Cola ew in the 4.30 Goodwood. Goshen, worthy fav, could easily throw a wobbly as has done before and is making the market. Cherry a 5lb pull with the 2nd fav Saratoga Gold (Mellow magic finished 2nd and has a 7lb claimer on today which is a worry) ffrom it's last run, and she won't mind any rain The trainer had a big priced winner earlier in the week. Doubts about the extra 2 furlongs but should stay it imo. Tis 25/1 at the mo which seems fair. GL

I will play my wildcard today and go for SPANISH STAR to take his 3rd win at Goodwood

Improved on 2nd run after a break with a 2¾ lengths 2nd of 8 over 6f (didn’t get the clearest of runs 1f out) - A 2 times winner at Goodwood, over 6f (Sft), has winning form over 7f (Gd)
remains on the same mark for today’s run (7f) and can, hopefully, go one better and get the better of the short priced favourite

He will be a place bet for me today (currently 2.62) but for this comp., as we need a few points, I will put him up as a win selection (8/1)

But today is looking much better (one form my notebook just slotted in) Noc messaged me and he's back from his Hols now so if you'd rather I let him use it tomorrow or you could could come up with one together? Let's see what we need points wise. But if yours and OTH go in today, it would make things a little easier for us. Goshen has his going now but like you say, he can get out of bed the wrong way some days. Yours and SG (shouldn't really stay with his sire Mayson but he's improving for the step up in trip it seems!) can take advantage if he's not at it today. Good day lads. Yes, Noc, there is plenty of competitive racing on today so there will be a few at a price going in...which ones though, that's the question! Looking at a few, Calling The Wind can take advantage at Goodwood if Lone Eagle isn't ready to fly today. We might need one at a bigger price though. Sows & G. Express in the last make plenty of appeal but some other shrewdies have ruin their prices! Outgate & City Runner both looed a spot of value this morning at the EP's at Haydock and I've already had a 1pt on each at 11s & 25s. Any thoughts on the day's racing, Noc?

Top spot this week may be out of our reach, but a couple of winners could see us take second or at least hold on to 3rd spot

I'm going for Sows in the last at Goodwood. We need a winner at a price so I'll be going Win. Moss Gill was another that was kind of interesting at a price at Haydock in their big race.

Sows ran a nice race but I couldn't have the 2 who finished in front of her at any price! Just playing for 2nd now and that doesn't make much appeal so I will just throw my selections up from here on in. Thanks for your all efforts lads.

He looks like he's running back into form, likes the track, and has been dropped a lb for his latest effort which looks solid in the context of this race. The negs, I like him better at 10f and the jockey is very inexperienced.

Yeah, not one of Dave's finest ride. Wouldn't have beat the winner but should have been placed. The winner could pick up a really big sprint handicap this season IMO.

Playing mine today last race of the evening 9.00 Kempton. Sophar So Good ew. Needs a good pace so we are dependent on that. Course not a problem, been 2nd and 3rd two runs there. All of the trainers runners ran well yesterday including 1 winner so stable form ok. Have done it ew with 365 @ 25/1. GL

Off to Epsom for 2 days. I'm on one in the Oaks at 16s. Posted about it on the main forum page after she won her 2nd start. But that price has long gone! Also have it in a double with Stone Age (The Stoute horse will be tough to beat)  Hoping for a big 2 days because I also have a number of other horses that I will be betting.
