It's weird because before those three, the Danes had good people like Jeff Tarango inspire them and their behaviour.

Torpegaard (the tennis player) seems to be retired from the sport, or is on a very long injury lay-off (retired in his latest match in 2022). Remember when he stole the world's hearts by storming through the challenger tournament of his alma mater?

Everybody is in the 40 to 50 lbs or 20 to 25 kg range and then you Mannarino at half that.
Report edy February 8, 2024 5:38 PM GMT
Zach Svajda and Ethan Quinn must be using super next level strings with them stating "confidential" for them.
Report SamuelMertensBertens February 8, 2024 5:40 PM GMT
Mannarino is very unfrench on court (never any drama), but then he has some of the biggest quirks off court (the light racquet tension + never looking at draws) so still finds a way to stand out.
Report edy February 8, 2024 5:48 PM GMT
The Moutets, Paires and Gastons of this world are just ruining the reputation of french players. Tsonga, Gasquet, Simon, Humbert, Halys, Rinderknech all reasonably normal and drama free. Monfils does drama, but the positive kind (if you haven't bet on him).
Report SamuelMertensBertens February 8, 2024 6:02 PM GMT
that is true. There's also Cornet, but most French girls don't do drama.

They got rid of that Masarova scoreboard in the 4th or 5th game of the Tomova match, then just had nothing for a while and for the 8th game they finally found a fitting scoreboard for Tomova.

Tomova worked splendidly in the two games it has had a scoreboard. Maybe it is fixed now.
Report edy February 9, 2024 2:52 PM GMT
Felix losing to Zhizhen didn't enable the record in itself for Zhang. He claimed that #50 in the rankings following the AO already. Felix just allowed him to solidify it and improve on the record.
Report edy February 9, 2024 2:57 PM GMT
The bigger problem than the scoreboard has been bet365 removing streams or not having them to begin with. For some random reason they removed Tomova after about 2 and a half games and haven't brought it back. The feed itself works as I have been watching elsewhere.

Earlier in the day they also failed to put the stream online for at least one other match for a while (Rodionova-Shnaider I think).
Report edy February 9, 2024 3:16 PM GMT
Hidden double bagel for Tomova. Pigossi led 4*-0, 40-30 without Tomova having had either a break or game point. Tomova ended up winning 6-4,6-0, with Pigossi only having gp/bp on two of those final 12 games from a quick look.

When I say a gimmick I'm thinking Gael couldn't play for whatever reason (injury, illness) so they come up with a wacky reason. If not, yeah like you say it is silly. But even with my wacky theory it's silly because then fans will still be mad at the organization.

I have actually thought about this. There is a possiblity that there will be something like this, but no decision yet. If so it's likely to be very limited, details will be presented at some point, but for now all the information I can give is there MAY be some sort of (likely very limited) flag protection for future comps so this can be taken into account when placing picks for this current one.
