It's so obvious when you think about it.

Muzza has no interest in becoming a commentator, he loves being in and around the action.  We know he's a fan of the WTA tour, is a proven by his actions feminist and has posted his approval of Mirra's being hard on herself to demand more (very prime Muzza chacteristic). He knows how to turn a defensive baseline style into a nightmare for opponents and multiple slam success. Mirra is doing well with her existing male coach of course but Muzza has the experience of the business end of the big stage events which would surely take her to the next level.

Surely it's the first page of the next chapter?

Having a teenage tennis player be distracted and swooning in every single practice session can't be good for the development of tennis abilities. Old, thoroughly uncharismatic Ivan Lendl would be much better. He knows how to develop a defensive baseliner into a nightmare for opponents.

Plus, while Andy might not be quite as good as he used to be, I like having him around as a player and person still.

If you had Murray as Mirra's coach, it would not only be bad during practice, but even worse during matches. Need to keep your eyes on the ball and opponent instead of looking into your box during points, before points, after points, before returns, before serves, before, during and after everything.

No hope of Andy coaching any attractive female players, as Kim would be exercising her Veto !

Tarnishing my legacy? Do me a favour. I’m in a terrible moment right now I’ll give you that. Most people would quit and give up in my situation right now. But I’m not most people and my mind works differently. I won’t quit. I will keep fighting and working to produce the performances I know I’m capable of.
