Stenciled on the court:'50 years equal pay'. This refers to women being paid the same prize money as the men.
Can this be considered work of equal value? Perhaps work of 3/5ths value. If the women agree to playing best of 5 sets
then fair enough, but I doubt very much that they would.

I think that's a very simplistic way of looking at it.
Do you really think if the men only wanted to play best of 3 sets at slams it wouldn't have happened by now?
Best of 5 sets favours the better players.
