tennis is starting to struggle of late, with Roger and Serena retired, and Rafa injured and not far off stopping either. Novak draws a crowd, but tennis really needs to build some new big stars to capture the mainstream viewership

u can get empty seats during the day. thats why playing novak v carlos during the day on friday is a big mistake. they could have played that match in thursday night.

it will be packed out for that match, Muchova-Saba was not because the're basically no names in the world of sport and can't put bums on seats, but a match up like Novak-Alcaraz is box office and seems odd to put it on in the middle of the day.

I certainly noted the empty seats at RG and it contrasted with Lords for a T20 cricket match. Admittedly some sections were closed but the open ones were packed. The Brits are much more willing to pay for live sport than most countries apart from India. The number of West ham fans in Prague was remarkable. Longchamp is almost empty for most meetings.
