Father Time has darkened your doorway, it's time. Retire and bow out with grace and a great leaving party in the summer sun of Wimbledon come July, don't linger on and limp around the court trying to recreate past glories, not a good look, the legs have gone and the body has followed since the operation.
been a great journey and a great career, true hall of famer, 3 Golds, 3 slams, 11 slam finals, Davis Cup, bucket load of masters, World Number 1 and many great wins against the big 3. Let that be the memory not being hammered week in and out by mediocre players whilst sliding out of the top 100.
I don't think so yet. Clay isn't really his bag and he definitely was going into yesterday cold which isn't going to suit him at all. Still got big matches and big wins in him. No need to retire just yet.

he can get big wins, the problem is he lives for big wins but cannot beat top players consistently, RBA was 1.3 to beat him in Australia, although Murray had a long match 2 days before, prime Murray that wouldn't have been an issue, grueling matches are too much for his body these days, when RBA is that much of a heavy fav to beat you when he is mid 30's as well, you know it's time to call it a day, this Wimbledon will be the perfect time to bow out, but he still probably wants to prove that medic wrong who he said took delight in telling him he'd never make it back to the top level after surgery, ego keeping him going.
In his last 10 slams, he hasn't won more than 2 matches in a row, this is Andy Murray who made 24 of the previous 27 quarters finals at least.

He needs to get mean with his court time. I know these fantastic comeback missions against Etcheverry and Muller etc make great headlines and lead to outpourings of Muzza love on twitter but Lendl points out in interviews that the unnecessary court time eventually means the oil in the lamp runs dry.
If he can find a way to cut short these matches against ordinary players and save the big win magic for the matches that matter, keep something special in the tank for the players that he really shouldn't be beating then he could still do something extraordinary at a 1000+ imo
