Ons was playing like dream in the last two matches of her.. Solid serves, very aggressive shots.... And today just came out like a coward.. Actually I'm sorry for her, seemingly a fun good person, must be terrible to lose big finals in 4months

I was captivated by Angie Kerber being star guest and star commentator on German Eurosport.

Women's tennis is currently in an absolute state.

When you've got a mickey mouse like Swiatek winning multiple slams in a year there needs to be some sort of inquiry as to why the WTA is so lacking in depth.

Even Serena put out the no.2 ffs!

can't see anyone beating Iga in the next two slams.

for the sake of the womens game we have to believe in big new stars wisey, an alcaraz and sinner for them to rejoice in, but atm, i feel WTA is a bit plain jane.

Swiatek is an average player up against mental midgets.

Jabber 5-4 up in the TB & serving blows the next 3 points.

Swiatek is not average, players just struggle to deal with her extreme gripped-forehand shots, a fully tuned in Osaka would be the best bet on Hard but she is away with the fairies most of the time.

The current crop of players are carp.

As I mentioned above, the no.2 in the world got put out by an unfit woman nearly 41.

Kontaveit obviously has no business being Number 2, she's dining out on a load of indoor points but Swiatek is a very good player that would have given the likes of Sharapova a run for her money and Henin, but Peak Serena no chance of grass or hard, think Iga would win on clay though, it's a shame they never met regardless. When her career is over she'll probably be mentioned in the same breadth as Henin and Seles because of number at least.

The current tour are largely a much of a muchness, a lot of similarly matched players in terms of talent/ceiling, Halep is probably past her best so unless Osaka gets her act together, Iga will be fave for Australia and will win it and the French. There is Andreescu, if she gets back to her full form she can push Swiatek as well, but 100% fit Iga is too good for everyone atm. Who else can stop her.

Swiatek is the Leyton Hewitt of the WTA.

A rickety wooden bridge between eras. Hewitt was the tiny bit of superglue between the Sampras era and the Fed era and Iga can play that role for now. There are better options for longevity round the corner. Bencic should be challenging at the moment but there's something missing there, could end up as the most potent female player to not even get to a final. The biggest letdown though was Garcia in the semi finals. Hard to think of a recent example of a hotter form player putting in such a limp effort.

Iga still has about 6-7 years until Efremova can challenge her reign.

I wonder if we'll ever see WTA tennis as competitive as it was in the Chrissie/Martina or Steffi/Seles eras, ever again ?

If someone has proven themselves for a very long time to be of utmost maturity and able to handle the responsibility that comes with it, betfair disables the filter for bad words for you. I remember when everyone proclaimed Sampras to be the greatest but Agassi was more accomplished having won a slam on hard, clay and grass, and a gold medal.

I learned Spanish at school for 5 years, the problem is Spaniards pronounce every syllable in their words so when they speak it sounds like they are saying so much more than what they actually are and in turn, sounds like they're talking at 100 miles an hour, whereas in English we shorted words a lot. I can read Spanish fluently, I can only understand the slower speakers, the faster speakers I have to second guess and take pot shots at what they're saying.
